What about this 'new' reset mode?

Hi.

I was browsing the Palm knowledge library and found this:

After the update you have four options:

Up: Quick Erase (Program Memory only)
Left: Quick Erase (Program Memory and Internal Drive) - this reset is not documented
Down: Secure Erase (Program Memory and Internal Drive)
Center: Cancel
The new reset option allows you to keep your digital music, pictures, videos and other items stored on the Internal Drive, even when you perform a hard reset. The new option only affects Program Memory in your device.

... so... anyone tried it? Cause it's contradicting itself! Up it says that the Quick erase would delete programa + internal drive but in the bottom it states otherwise! What the hell!?!?!

oh but... if i don't recall wrong, the screen says that pressing up will format the HD, right? (only quicker)?

I mean... they updated the functionality but not the screen; is that so?

Good question, I was surprised to find that they didn't update the screen also....but it works.
I guess they did it to fool thieves or something, by not clearly showing that your private data can still be saved after a hard reset. But then again, if you want to save that info -as a thief- why would you want to do a hard reset?
