Will it play any MP3s or is it true that it can't.

MS is just a memory card and you can store all kind of computer files, including MP3. I had 86 tracks of MP3 in my two 128MB MSs. The right question is whether your Clie can play MP3. My old N760C can.  Yours might not and may require special sound chip adapter.  Check Sony website for the adapter.

The one I'm gonna get in a few days is a Clie SJ33 and it said that it can play MP3s. But I heard stories that you might need the expensive Magic Gate Memory Stick version for it, and not the normal version. And yes I ordered the normal memory stick also. Another question, how can I transfer the MP3 from my computer to my Clie?

MagicGate (white) MS has one advantage over the regular (purple) MS, that is, it can store ATRAC3 (Sony audio format). I don't want to buy a white one for the price of two purple ones. Besides, my ears can't tell the difference in sound quality of ATRAC3 vs. MP3 anyway. For more info, just search this site. You'll be amazed how easy and how much info are available in this site.

The Clie (at least mine) comes with MSImport. Once you conncet the Clie to PC and you launch MSImport, your Clie will act as a card reader, and your MS will be shown in Windows Explorer as removable drive. Then you just drag and drop MP3 files from your PC to the /Palm/Programs/MSAudio folder of the "Removable drive".
