Hey all, I'm looking for a database type application for my T|X that I can use to record all the information for each photograph I take. I shoot film, so I'd like to be able to capture date, time, Film Roll #, Frame #, Camera Body, Lense type, Aperture, Shutter Speed, Filters, subject and notes or something like that.

Anyone out there give me a hand?

You may want to try PhotoLog 1.0 over at www.palmgear.com. It is freeware.

Another option is to purchase an app like HanDBase or MobileDB and create your own photo log. I made a photo log database with HanDBase for medium format shooting. There are several similar apps created by other HanDBase users posted on their website.

While it was fun to make and use a photo log database, it really took too much time to record all the variables for each shot. While PDAs are great for many purposes, it really got in the way and slowed me down. Of course, one could argue that a slower pace makes you think more about what you are doing with each frame. That is my input.

I took some interest in your request (since this sounds like something I'd need as well) so I did some searching around. I found a couple of database templates, such as PhotoLog v1.0 for thinkDB (http://www.freewarepalm.com/hobbies/photolog.shtml) but only found one free stand-alone application last updated in 2001 called "Picture Log".

Quick evaluation for "Picture Log v01-01" by John Outlaw using the Palm emulator:

The low-res icon isn't very pleasing on this just-19KB application.

When opened you get some very simple fields. As you can see, f/stop values are fixed (no f/1.8, f/2.5, f/3.5, f/4.5, etc.).

Tapping the "Details" button opens up access to more specific fields such as comments, Film and ISO, camera used, and a line to designate a project name which you'll see next. Tapping on the "Date" field opens up the default calendar-date-picker.

Tapping the "View All" button brings you to a list of your entries. The title value and project value are displayed here. Unfortunately there is no ordering so they will appear in the order of which you entered them.

I grabbed my copy from archive.org (corrupted archive). I've uploaded it for convenience: Download it HERE (http://freewebtown.com/nycnelson/picturelog.zip)

There aren't a lot of apps around for photographers but there are quite a few DoF calculators around. Hopefully someone will create an app that will satisfy the photography community.

Hope this helps. :)
