You can expect a new Clie to be announced in the next couple of weeks (I think?)- my source is almost 100% sure we will be seeing an official announcement of the improved NX very soon and there is also a reasonably good chance of a second machine being announced, the specs of which none of us are expecting! There was a brief article with a picture of it, forgot where I have seen it but I saved the picture of it. Not too sure of the detailed specs. But yes, it was a tablet with VG (like the T-series). Built-in CMOS camera on the body, bluetooth, CF Slot, also a MS DUO slot???

The specs are still rough but it seems like that both will have the NX70 form. The NX80 will have a 1 megapixel camera while the NX73 camera will be similar to the NX70. One thing different though is that, it seems like all the default applications are now stored in ROM and will have the full 16MB RAM free for use.

PalmOS is not like Windows, it won't run faster with more memory.

But, 32mb RAM is going to be necessary because programs get bigger as time goes on.

Apps run faster out of RAM than off of the MS. And the battery drains faster if the MS is accessed more often.

Gee, by the announcement comes out I will be outside of my 30 day return policy at Best Buy. Depending on what the new models have will help me decide to upgrade or not. I love my NX70V, and as I've mentioned there are certain things my next Clie must have. My next Clie must have 32MB of RAM, better battery life, Bluetooth, compatibility with the KB11 keyboad, and possibly a faster CPU. The biggest thing I want is 32MB of RAM or more. If the new NX (NZ?) models only have 16MB of RAM, I will be sticking with my trusty NX70V.

To the one who said something about the TR55, no, that was an entry to the CliePlanet contest. Now we have people running around all over the place spreading rumors about it because they just read the picture and not the caption. And the fact that it's sitting on Mr. Taxi's website with no caption isn't helping things, either.

If this new NX80v has 32 MB RAM, built-in Bluetooth, a 1 MP camera, 300-400 MHz PXA255, AND SOME GOD-FORSAKEN HIGHER RESOLUTION VIDEO RECORDING, then there's a great chance I'd buy it. If it only had 16 MB RAM, I wouldn't go for it and I would stick with my NX70v. Oh, and it should be priced at $600 for the NX80v, and $500 for the NX73. Any more than that should be out of the question.

cannot surpass the NZ90, its their flagship Clie.

releasing anything better will only kill the NZ90, just launced 2 mnths back!

NX sales were destroyed because of that move. I think it is the same as a NX70 with a retractable CF slot (closes) and a better battery life, different KB and just maybe more RAM available.


But hey rhart00, we'll just have to wait and see!!!

I can't wait much longer. I've been holding out for a NX-60 upgrade without the keyboard, with bluetooth, more memory (32MB min) PXA255 running at 400MHz and build-in WiFi 802.11n...... Am I asking for too much??:D

Yep, I figure I might be able to upgrade when the prices come down on the NX70V. I keep looking but they are still over $450! How low will the price go? I still have my T615!

I've seen the NX70v at Overstock for $399. Of course...it's a refurb...

Just give me a Clie with the newer/faster chips, more memory, built in bluetooth and 802.11b and I'll be happy. I can live without the camera but if it's there, I'll take it as long as it doesn't add too much to the weight. I'd still like to be able to carry it in my pocket.

I would love it if I could connect my Sony 717 camera to my clie or *new* clie (probably) through the camera's video jack so I could see a live picture on the clie's larger screen. This would be really nice and would convince alot of cyber-shot owners to purchase a clie (sony marketing- are you listening?).
