how do you set up the clie tg50 to a mac using the latest os and updates.

That's kind of a vague question. You will need to install Palm Desktop 4.0 first, which you can find for download on palm.com. If you have Bluetooth or infrared capibilities on your mac you can sync it that way. Otherwise you will need to buy The Missing Sync from markspace.com.

Make sure you get the latest version of Missing Sync - it has support for the TG50.
I'm running it daily with Mac OS 10.2.5 with no problems.

No, you do not need the Missing Sync to sync via Bluetooth or IR on a mac. But remember that Bluetooth, if you don't already have it, will cost just as much or more than the Missing Sync. Furthermore, Bluetooth and IR syncs take forever compared with USB.
Also, the Missing sync allows you to mount the memory stick on your desktop which is a huge plus. The HotSync Manager (at least for me) doesn't like to put mac files on the memory stick.
