View Full Version : Init String for V3 RAZR in Speaker Mode?

OK -- so I have the ultimate combination of toys -- my PalmTX, loaded and configured and stable as you wouldn't imagine possible with lovely smoothed fonts, VNCing to my work machine via VPN and wifi (or even bluetoothing into my phone!) and streaming audio and running Kmaps just to make my coworkers jealous -- and a RAZR V3 that has been modded and modded and then modded some more... I am this (..) close to having everything configured exactly how I would like...

BUT...

After spending four nights of reading ALL the old forum messages (yikes!) here and other places and googling until my eyes bled, I still don't have an answer to this question. :(

THE PROBLEM:
I would like to use my Palm dialer program connect to my RAZR and default to Speakerphone mode. The bluetooth connection works great. I can dial just fine. (i.e. enter the number on the palm, hit dial and the phone will start dialing... but unless I am already holding the phone in cradled against my shoulder, I can't hear it because it isn't in SPEAKPHONE mode).

I am assuming there is an AT command I could enter in the INIT string in the PalmTX for the phone that would allow this. But, as I said, four nights of constant searching have left me with nothing but bloodshot eyes.

Does anyone out there have an answer?

It isn't a big thing -- but my combination of toys is so CLOSE to being perfect, I'd love to solve this one last piece of the puzzle...

1. get phone's rom
2. get linux
3. run something like "strings rom | grep AT"
4. sift trough results

For what it's worth -- I posted a similar question on a Motorola V3 message board around the same time and someone pointed me in the direction of this very suggestion. I have since gotten my hands on a Motorola manual that has a whole host of AT commands... I haven't gotten it to work. YET. But through trial and error I suspect I will and when I do I'll be doing my part to add to the overall knowledgebase for the mobile community.

These boards are amazing and the spirit of people living up to the name of "hacker" in the best sense of the word makes me very happy with the choices I've made in the hardware I've chosen.

This thread might have gone dark for a week or two, but that doesn't mean there won't be a solution posted. *grins*

Oh... let us know then... :)

After that you may want to try it for the W800? :D

No, really, is there any other stuff you popup that could also be done? I don't know... record a call after dialing, something like that, with another commands?
