Yeah, I got it to work. In addition to the File_Transfer.exe file, you also need the PalmOneRemote.dll file. I plopped them both into my C:\Program Files\Palm folder and that did the trick!!

I'm hosting both files for a little while so most folks who don't have it can get it, but I won't be hosting forever - so folks get it now if you need or want to try it.

Because the downloading from streamload doesn't work properly for me.
When i tried to download File Transfer.exe, firefox downloaded file called simply only "file" without any proper file extension /i mean like .exe or .cab...don't know, if this is the proper terminus technicus for this stuff :confused: )

It sounds like DataImport or CardReader, but needing a seperate program to access the VFS (In that case it sounds like a cut-down ripoff of PFB...?)

it's the "transfer application" that comes with the t5 and LifeDrive you can use it the same way you use "drive mode" on those 2 devices.

I discovered something by accident that may help some of you who cannot or have been having trouble connecting.

I just bought two cradles for use with my Treo 700. I bought the Palm cradle and the USB only cradle. When I went to use the Transfer program with my 700 in the Palm cradle, I got the following message:

Your device is currently not available.

When I disconnected the cradle and plugged the cables directly into the 700, it connected to the Transfer program. So apparently, the 700 has to be connected directly to the USB port for this to work. It's a hassle to have to pull it out of the cradle and hook it up directly to the cables to perform a transfer, but it will inherently still save time.

This won't solve all issues but I'm sure it will help a few of you.

I reinstalled my Palm Desktop and now the Transfer works with the 700 in the cradle.

Go figure...
