I've been after a 'full size' size keyboard for my NR and liked the look of the XT.

But, as you all probably know they're only available for Palms at the mo.

I mailed ThinkOutside, and they tell me that a version for the NR and NX will be available from next month! :)

Just thought I'd share.

Cheers,

GOO

I have been considering getting one for a while but I'm not sure whether or not I would actually find the Clie that useful for working on documents and end up resorting to the laptop all the time.

Has anyone used a proper 'full size' keyboard with their PDA? If so how did you get on with it?

I've had an XT for my NR for many months now and I love it.  It is always in my inside suit jacket pocket and I never even realize it's there; until you need it and then you're cooking with gas.  I LOVED my Stowaway, but it was too big to carry around ALLof the time; the XT is perfect.

With my SupplyNet cable in stow, I have all of the core functionality of a laptop (for my purposes) on my person and you could never even tell.  Now I am just hoping that the NX80 has BT and that Verizon releases a BT phone so that I can do away with the cable.

I've owned a full size Stowaway keyboard for my last 3 PDAs (Palm IIIe, Visor Prism, and now the NR70V). I consider it a "must have" accessory due to how I use my PDA. Yes, I'm quite adept with graffiti-- my keyboard isn't a crutch for a lack of stylus proficiency.

What I mainly use my keyboard for is note taking in meetings-- for any given meeting I create a note, and then type away. The advantage is that the notes are automatically filed with the date of the meeting, and show up when I perform searches for key phrases & such. I've tried using graffiti and/or the mini keyboard of the NR, but neither allows me to get my thoughts into my PDA as fast as a real keyboard.

The Stowaway XT is a nice looking keyboard, but I find the current keyboard for the Clies (original Stowaway design) is preferrable, as it actually HAS the row of number keys-- and believe it or not, typing numbers comes up often enough that having to use a function keypress combination is frustratingly awkward. I concede that for others the more compact size may be worth the sacrifice of this row of keys.

In short, if you need a keyboard NOW, go ahead and get the current Clie keyboard for the NR series-- it's not all that big folded up, and it works GREAT. If you have to have the latest & greatest, or just have to have a keyboard that is more "pocketable", then the upcoming XT keyboard is good news indeed.

Where did you get yours, if you don't mind me asking?

Hey sralmas,

I'd like to know where you got one for the NR too. I have been waiting for a keyboard since I got mine. The XT is very cool looking.

Don't keep us in suspense!

Maybe they're confused considering that it hasn't been released yet...

Is there an XT for the SJ or SL series? Anyways, what's new on the XT- just the size?
