I'm pretty sure none, the mp3 decoding is handled through a chip other than the Dragonball SuperVZ, so software upgrades wouldn't do much...

It's been thought of and apparently attempted:

harry was asking about mp3 pro... the threads that crh3f referenced were about Memory stick pro. trying to avoid some confusion...
I agree with Spiral, I doubt the NR would have much luck. What I wonder is if the NX or any of the Clies running the ARM processor could handle the decoding? I remember reading somewhere about the newer devices using the cpu to decode as opposed to a seperate chip. can anyone verify?

the mp3 decoding for the NX/NZ/TG is handled by the main processor.
while the mp3 decoding for the NR/T/SJ are done by a seperate chip.

Just because MP3 is handled by a separate chip in the NR, it doesn't mean that software couldn't be done for MP3 Pro. The DSP is programmable so it is feasable. But as far as I know it hasn't been done.

is anyone using mp3 pro yet? small files sizes are great, but honestly listening to an mp3 makes me about cringe. why would we want to add more compression to obscure the original sound any further? with broadband and terabytes of storage i would think that some of the audiophiles of the internet would be finging better ways to transfer lossless audio files. i guess i can see it being used for handhelds and such due to the storage limitations...

Tried Mp3Pro format today on my Nr70. Audioplayer won't play the track, says file does not support copyright system or the file format. Too bad, because the Mp3Pro format makes really small files, which sound pretty good.
