Do you care what color your PDA is??

I read all the time on here that someone is waiting for a retailer to get a certain color of Clie in - does it really matter (to most users) what color your PDA is?

I went a couple of steps out of my way to find a blue T615C, so for me color was important enough. Now I wanted the T615C regardless so color wasn't the "deciding" factor. If silver was the only color it came in, that's what I would have gotten. But given the choice . . .

Gee, if my NX70V was the Gunmetal Gray color I'd love it even more. It would match my entertainment center components even better.

I like the silver shades because they look more formal and business like. I don't want anything that looks like a gameboy. Some people may want the attention and like the bright colours.

Hey, the Game Boy Advance SP looks more like a gadget then a toy! Plus it comes in black (in Japan) silver and cobalt blue! I didn't like the GBA SP (problems with dust, same kinda screen as T|T) and I sold mine.

I REALLY wanted a GUN-Metal NX70... but I thought I got a GOOD price on the NX70 (with a 128MB MS) so I bit, I don't regret it BUT, I do... I came from an ORANGE Visor deluxe that was Special ordered CAUZE I so no one, no one else with an orange visor...

Color is good, but too gaudy is bad, guess not too much to say about it, metallic/silver is normal and looks nice and professional.

I very much liked the M100 series that allowed you to switch up face plates. This kept me from getting bored with my handheld and it allowed me to show a bit of personality.

I very much wish they would introduce a wider variety of colors in the Clies. I saw that orange T665c but that didn't settle well with me. Blue, a deep green, a nice deep purple. I'd love it! Purple is my favorite color and I'd go nuts if I could have a purple Clie.

I'm a preschool teacher and I use my Clie extensively all day long to take notes on and to assess my students. They don't care what color my PDA is. I also must attend many many meetings with high level administrators, parents, and community members. They certainly wouldn't care if I had a deep purple clie.

One wonderful alternative would be if they came out with hard cases that were colored. I use the Rhino-Skin hard case. If they came out with a purple one of those I'd buy 5!

Seriously though, some people, understandably, want the understated silver. I see that going over better in some corporate situations. But some of us would die for a little color in our lives. Why not offer it?!

actually yes, but not much, however when i owned palm IIIxe/trg pro i always liked the black colour on ibm workpad
and e.g. when i was buying a new palm for me i habe chosen sj30 over sj22 because sj30 doesn't have the black "framing" around the display => sj30 looks much more professional compared to sj22 ..

It matters but functionallity comes first. And my pda's get scratched up after the first week of ownership anyway so I cannot attach too much importance on looks :)

I've a NX70V (Gun-Metal), it's very nice indeed. Like owning a 1G MS Pro (sadly I don't). Can't afford an MS that carries the price equivilent to the unit itself. :D
Back to the color issue, I didn't mind paying a little extra for the Gun-Metal edition. But I still would've gotten the NX if it was only in Silver, it's the function that I like, color was optional.

I also have spotted the T615C in Gun-Metal color, which actually looks very nice as well, guess I'm hooked to the Gun-Metal look!

the color of the unit matters to me, but not as much as functionality. i must admit that i "had" to have a gunmetal nx and i was able to find a package deal at a good price (the same price, in fact, as the silver nx package deal). i still would have purchased an nx even if it had not been available in gunmetal, but since i had the choice, i picked the color i liked best...

I really like the black color finish of the NZ90. I suppose a few color choices would be nice for every new Clié model. It might even attract customers who otherwise would have decided not to purchase a PDA...

I keep getting an itch to take m NX70V apart and do somethign to the case.. like a very good automotive paint... clearcoat and everything... :-D

My only fear is if it breaks, I wonder if CompUSA would still take it back with the TAPIT program. Maybe I'll call them and ask them.

Yes! Color matters, to some extent. I don't like the gun metal gray of the NZ90. But I bought it anyway. I still prefer the silver case of my old NR70V. And Talula, I agree with you, purple would be awesome! As soon as Vaja comes out with a case for the NZ I will be buying one of the light blue cases to help hide this ugly "gray" (looks black to me).

I think the Bright orange of the T665 is hideous and gives my eyes headaches!!! BUT, if I could have gotten a T665 in the blue color of the T615, I surely would have!!

I think it would be great if color options would be offered . . . I don't think it would be *nearly* as easy as the M100 series, but it's WAS a cool idea.

Didn't Claudia Schiffer or some famous chick once have a 'limited edition' Palm OS pda of some sort? It was some weird shade of blue, I think. Maybe Handspring? I don't remember . . .

I think a *copper* colored PDA would be cool . . . with ZL & CopperDeck Themes . . . that would be *'da bomb'* . . . ;)
