mySkin is my input area skin manager for the T3, T5, TX and LifeDrive. myKbd does everything mySkin does but adds the capability for custom hex-based tappable keyboards like the IBM-optimized ATOMIK keyboard.

I've added the following features:
- (both) compression of skins (use Compact and Compress option in "File" menu and "Save as..." dialog)
- (mySkin) enabled macros that can be assigned to the four hard keys (currently no plan to expand the list of keys that macros can be assigned to)
- (both) different macros can be assigned to short and long presses of the hard keys; for instance, short press of #2 on my TX launched Agenda while a long press launches Tasks; short press of #4 on my TX launches Blazer while a long press launches VersaMail and taps on its "Get" button. Long presses almost surely don't work on the T3 (but please let me know).

Works well on my TX. Boy, this app just keeps getting better and better! Thanks pruss for the great work.

By the way, I just noticed that double-tapping the hard key has the same effect as a long press. I can eliminate this feature (or bug?), but I kind of like it.

I see no way to differentiate between types of presses on the T3 so I guess you can say a T3 user only has one choice. This works well, though. The Compact & compres skin option works fine, both when I do a straight 'compact and compress', and when I do a 'save current skin as'. When compacting and compressing skins the box that pops up has the 'g' chopped off from the word compressing, though. Finally, you do know that choosing the Favorites option from the Options menu just does not work. It causes the T3 to freeze forcing me to do a soft-reset.

I am hoping the 1.30(b) beta build of myKbd will fix all the reported problems. It should extend long hard key press macro support to the T3, too. http://www.prussfamily.us/beta.zip

By the way, the Favorites is for the <recent> macro command.

How to show it is a long-press macro or not?

In my T3 it seems the second version also don't have the long-press function.
I'd suggest that making a tick box to let user to select whether it is a long-press or not.

The tickbox should be there. Are you using myKbd or mySkin?

And now x.30c is out. The recent-and-favorites list is now 5-way navigable. TX users can now in effect add favorites to the hold-app list by assigning a macro to hold-hard1 that says: <recent>

Does the Favorites macro have to be assigned to hard button 1? or can it be assinged to any hard button?

pruss

Any button. But it makes sense to assign it to a long press of button 1 to replace the built-in recent apps list.

The tick box works fine on my T3. I may be confused in that I can get <recent> to work just fine from a macro. On my T3, at least, choosing the Favorites option from the Options menu causes the T3 to freeze forcing me to do a soft-reset. Maybe I have something else that is causing problems.

mySkin with a T3.

mySkin with a T3.

I guess I should have stated that myself. I am using myKbd and do see the tick box and it works fine.

I'd like to make 2 requests... I figure the worst you can do is say NO ;)

1) Would it be possible to change the "Power Off" in the myKbd macro set to enable it to trigger Off Flush? I know that Henk had to change something in 2PlayMe's "Off" to get it to trigger Off Flush.

2) Would it also be possible to add an AeroPod pop-up to the macro set? I would set up a macro myself for it using the Command Line, but I can navigate over to it with the 5-way nav... Or do you know if I could use the Command Line and then use Button Press to trigger the Pod pop-up? If so do you have any idea what the button code would be or where I can find the code?

Doesn't it? I assume it does if you have Off Flush set to go off on every power-off.

I know nothing about AeroPod. What is it?

Alex, I've double checked all of my settings and the Macro=Power Off does NOT trigger Off Flush. I have Off Flush set to flush only with power off when the cache is below 60%. If I assign the Macro=Power Off to one of my hard buttons it doesn't work - however, the main power button on the TX still triggers a flush. Like I said - I know that recently Henk made some change to the "Power Off" function in 2PlayMe to get it to trigger a flush using Off Flush so there must be some difference in how the power off is done.

AeroPod Pop-up is a feature of AeroPlayer that allows for a little pop-up window similar to a DA to come up when Aeroplayer is running in the background. I can access it through the Command Line. Also, I've been accessing it through an app called QLaunch which is a button launcher - it has a special command called AeroPod pop-up (there's also a Pocket Tunes pop-up). My problem is that QLaunch won't allow me to set up multi step macros - but myKbd has this feature (which I love). The new version of myKbd disables the ability for me to use QLaunch on a button that I've assigned a macro to.

This link has a picture and a bit of information on AeroPod
http://www.mobiletechreview.com/software/palmaudio2_aeroplayer.htm

Since, it is accessable through the command line as well - I'm willing to set up a macro for it but I think I need the button label code. ie: <command><tap ?????> where ????? is a "button label" that I need to know what to input to get it to work if possible.

Why don't you email the developer and ask how AeroPod is supposed to be launched?

What's your "only on power button" setting? It should be off.

I don't really understand either of your statements, other than I get the feeling you don't feel like messing with either my requests... That's fine. So sorry to waste your time.

1. The latest OffFlush has an option whether it runs only on the power off KEY or whenever the power turns off (e.g., due to timeout). When a myKbd <poweroff> macro is executed, it doesn't count as a power off KEY.

2. I wrote Aerodrome asking for an API.

This should be fixed in x.30c.

I am still having the trouble with myKbd. I download version 1.31 from Palmgear and am using the default T3 DIA. The first time I try to bring it up I get a popup message and then the screen freezes. Everytime thereafter the screen freezes when I go into the favorites.

I can't seem to get the <run appx> hard key macros to work. Several of the other macros I have tried work fine (Launcher, Recent, Hotsync, power off, etc).

Am I missing something?

2.32 on palmgear should fix that.

Is there a way to make macros (and command bar hiding) run also after reset without having to add myskin to uncache?

No. If you don't add mySkin to uncache, then mySkin has no way of being activated after a reset.

I've searched, and couldn't find any discussion about atomik support for the Sony Clie TH55. Is it planned? I liked using atomik on a PC, so know it would be better than the other PDA input methods. Or is the TH55 too defunct to support?

pruss

Too much work to support a single device. However, the portion of myKbd source code that does keystroke recognition and full code for ClieSkinner is freely available at handypalmstuff.sf.net, so anybody who wants to develop this is welcome.
