View Full Version : how many of you have screen problems with TX?
I am almost one step before ordering TX + 2GB SD card. I was wondering how many of you have their screens whining...

I know, I used to own this program for my T3 which was screaming-not whining- and now is silenced to death...
ok, so I rephrase, After how much time after purchase do you start to hear the noise?

you dont notice it in noisy enviornments, but if you want to browse the internet in your sleepingroom then you will hear it ^^
I have also noticed that my Treo 650 screen after 1,5 year of heavy use, is totally silent, which means that, there exists the technology of adding silent screens to phones/PDAs but they don't use it, do they?

I've only had my TX few a month or two and the screen is dead quiet.

It seemed like my T3 always had the screen whine... I've had my TX for about 4 months now and still no whine :D
However, I do own a copy of WarpSpeed (I use for over/under clocking) so if it ever starts whining all I have to do is tap a checkbox and it's gone again.

I too have had no screenwhine yet - had my TX since december. But like PCQ, I own Warpspeed for other reasons and know that getting rid of screen whine is only a tap away.

Neither my TX, nor my TE (1) and CLIE TJ27 have never developed screen whine. When/if they do, I will purchase the solution. :)

I have a whine problem and a digitzer issue. Mind you its only the second month I've had it. At least Palm will be replacing both (I hope)

No whine or digitizer issue. Purchased the first week they were available last October. No whine on the E or E2 either. The E digitizer did go numb after 15 months.
Thank you all for your answers! I will get the TX and hope that I would not need to re-purchase WarpSpeed (done it once for my T3 which is dead at the moment)
However I get the feeling that TXs (as many other devices) do not get assembled in one place. So, it depends on the factory which constructs the device, or the retailer who's selling the parts (not all screens are purchased from the same developer, I suppose)...

My TX is 7 months old and no detectable whine even when held up to my ear. My over 2 year old TE has a very faint whine if you hold it to your ear. I cannot hear it at all when actually using it (not stuck in my ear).

I always give my TX plenty of sleep and keep it fed, so it never whines for anything.

I certainly couldn't do this, but why doesn't someone who has programming experience at least ATTEMPT to make a freeware utility that will get rid of this whine?
I have a TX, and the whine is VERY loud. It isn't all that irritating to me unless I turn my head so my ear is facing it, but it's loud enough to trigger migrains in others AND loud enough to wake this kid up that's always sleeping in study hall. Usually it doesn't bother me, I have very good hearing, but my ears ring all the time despite that, so I'm used to high pitched noises...but that doesn't stop it from being an annoyance since my free trial of warpspeed ran out. I'd really like to not have to pay for my TX to stop being an instrument of torture.
