Hi,
I just bought Palm T|X. So far it works good.
I have a question. When I look at the screen, on the right side of the screen there is a light leak from the backlight... It looks like they didn't put the screen precicely at the center, but slightly shifted to the left, so there is a space with light that is uncovered.
Is it normal? Does anybody have anything like this?
Thanks.
It's the same on mine and it seems to be normal. Perhaps the screen isn't shifted at all, and it's just that its left edge is a bit bigger than the right one (and thus covers the backlight). I've had my TX for almost 3 months now, and there haven't been any problems with this phenomenon. Just ignore it, you will get used to it.

Thanks for reply.
I am going to check in the store to see if their units have same "features".

I bought my Tx the first day they were available. I have no such light leaks.
I see the same thing if I turn my TX so I can look at that edge. I don't notice it unless I try to see it though. Saw this with my first TX as well.

I checked a few stores. The one I checked have it on the same side...
Looks like palm could have done a better job.

I got my TX in December, and I just checked for the light leak. Fortunately I don't have it.

Well what do you know - I've got the ''leak''. It hasn't had any adverse effects. In fact I only just notice now, reading this thread. :-)

Yes, thas what I would like to point out - it does not seem to be a technical problem, just an optical one.
My first TX had that problem; my replacement one doesn't :)
Here's a question: is there any correlation between the light leak and the ghost taps/lines on the DIA?

I have the "leak" but do not experience any ghost taps/lines in the DIA. However, I don't use graffiti. I use myKbd, so I wouldn't really notice ghost lines. You'd think I would notice ghost taps though.
I only observe the usually digitizer drift that I've had on all my pdas (I need to calibrate every couple of weeks).
Oh god! I hope that doesn't mean that my digitizer will go bad :( How long had you had yours before it went bad?

I wouldn't worry about the light leak. It doesn't seem to have any adverse effects. My TX has it and its digitizer is still perfect. You will not notice ghost taps with myKbd as Alex implemented a fix for this.
