Novii Remote

I just received an email from the support team at Novii. It said, "NoviiRemote ver 1.21 (released two days ago) supports Palm OS 5 devices like
Palm Tungsten T with OMAP1510 processor.

NoviiRemote ver 1.21 supports Palm OS 3.5/4.x devices like Sony Clie NR70V/E
with DragonBall processor

NoviiRemote ver 1.21 does not support Palm OS 5 devices like Sony Clie
NX70V/E (and NZ series as well) with ARM processor."

On clieplanet shaun( I think) had it working on his NX.

You're right. I just talked to him and he said that it is running fine on his NX70V. Mine, on the other hand, pops up a fatal error and has to be reset whenever I try to use it. That's why I initially emailed Novii. I'll try re-installing and training it and see what happens.

the app runs fine on my NX UNTIL I try to press a button. Then I get a fatal reset.

Yep I get a Fatal error as well on my NX.

Glad I saw this thread. I saw on CliePlanet it said it was working on the NX so I have the demo downloading right now. You guys just saved me a fatal reset!

I traded emails with the Tech Director at Novii last night, and he definitely stated that an NX compatible version is in the works, but the current one does NOT work with the NX

I downloaded the Demo and ran the install. At the beginning of the install it states that it requires OS 3.5 or greater running on a Dragonball processor. That pretty much eliminates the NX and NZ. We'll have to wait and see if the next version works. It would have been nice to use it on my Ultimate TV box and TV. : (

I think i read on clieplanet that the dev said they were working on a version for OS5 sony clies. don't quote me on that though

Unless they are able to use the high power IR transmitter in the NX, then range will be severly limited. This is the same problem that plagues Omniremote. Omniremote does work on an NX, but the range is about 1-3 feet, which depends on the device you are controlling.

Well, whichever company gets theirs to work with the high-powered IR first will get my money. I believe it will be Novii. At least they are keeping people informed about their work. The last time I emailed pacific neo tek (Omni remote) got a snooty email that the version (for high power IR) was in development and to check their web site. Well, the "Did you know" on their site hasn't been updated in more than a year, and it's difficult if not impossible now, to DL an NX version.

I had previously DL'ed a version of it that worked with the normal IR, but not the high power. I played with it a little, but never actually used it.
