Has anyone gotten this to work? I keep getting the same message I got with earlier versions of the beta:

"This device does not have Flash memory and is not supported by JackFlash".

I did not use JackFlash before so I'm not entitled to the beta version of JackFlash 3.0b5.

However, it was mentioned in the Brayder technical support page that this beta 5 version supports TG50. Previous betas did not mention this.

Just tried it.

It will provide 3.6MB for my TG50. Good enough to put my CJKOS and Netfront into it! Cheers!

I'd be interested to see if you did anything special to get it working on a TG50. Have not been able to get it to work with the latest beta.

I have throw in the following in the flash memory:

CJKOS (including all fonts files)
Acidimage
MegaCalc

Still left 1.8MB in the flash.

Now my TG50 has 5MB free space rather than my 2MB free space.

Tell me you are joking lujunzou!!! I cannot believe US TG50's don't have any flash available... why would that be?

and It is just TG50/J (not /U & /H) that Jackflash can set free 3.6M of its ROM.

Well, i cannot believe it....i tried beta5 on my TG50/u (USA) does not have any flash available... this really sucks!!!I really don't understand how that can be... why7 does the Japanese TG50 have available ROM and not the US one?

I am using TG50/G and I believe this model is for asia pacific region.

After installing, it will ask whether do you want to enable flash and that's it! You have 3.6MB!

I too do not understand why US TG50 does not have flash, it could only mean that brayder do not support US TG at the moment?

tiwee... you're lucky and i'm so jealous!!!! I'v ebben waiting for this version of Jackflash since i got my TG50 2 weeks ago... i was so eager to get it, that i got it shipped to an office in NYC and then to Milan from there.....

Tell something.... what applications do you have installed on RAM, i mean which original applications... or where all the original app's in ROM like with my TG50?

How do you know the exact model of your tg50??
I bought one in US 3 weeks ago...and it has a sticker on the box says that it's TG50/U
But after I use the Jackflash3.05b...it shows that i get 3647k free flash rom on my device....

Using Jackflash, I am not able to see what is in the Flash Rom. Of course, I cannot delete them as well. I uses Beampro to look what I have in the Flash Rom.

HTC, look on the back of the clie and it should say the version of the TG50 on the sticker with the serial number...... like PEG-TG50/U or /G or /H.

If yours is a /U version and you got beta 3.0/5 to work, maybe i'll have some hope left.... meanwhile i'm really jealous!!!!

I've been exchanging emails with Brad at Brayder regarding the problem of Jackflash Beta5 and my TG50/U.....

Below is the last reply I got, following a test he made me do on my clie.... This is terrible news for me... I'm left with 2.25MB in RAM and needed the ROM badly to run things like mapopolis maps, which now i can't.... I've already moved tons of stuff to the MS PRO (1Gb) with PowerRun and what's left on RAM I can't move because they all use conduits during sync and won't work if on MS.....

I'm so pissed off at Sony now... they stuffed the Clie with all those crap app's, made it impossible to get rid of them (jacksprat support not possible) and now some TG50's don't even have Flash ROM but only have Mask ROM which not even Jackflash can modify....  man what a nightmare!

Could you please tell me the serial number on your TG50, I'm planning to go hunting for one&nbsp;from your batch. I need that ROM badly! I cannot believe my luck!

I've got my serial number covered with a business card at the moment, but I know it starts with 301.... and I don't have the Flash ROM.

It's too bad Sony makes the best product going, cause they're screwing up the small stuff.

You people are blaming all this on Sony. You are using BETA software. Once they get out all of the bugs, and actually release the product, it will probably work on all TG-50's

At this point of time, unless Brayder have a TG50/U that is not working will be able to help solve the problem. I wonder will they be able to find one? If they are not going to find one, I guess it would still take some time to verify whether it is really masked ROM. I guess you guys have to cool it down and wait for news although it is quite frastrating at this time.

In a way it wouldn't surprise me if the US version of the TG50 doesn't have flash... it was the same way with the SJ30 - US versions have mask ROM only.

However, since the TG50 uses OS5, which is still being updated, you would think Sony would put flash on all OS5 devices.

Except for the fact that Sony doesn't have a good history in releasing OS updates. I think they released one for a T-series model a while back, but I'm not sure. Either way, it's extremely unlikely that Sony will release an OS update for the current OS 5 models (NX, NZ, TG). I hope I'm proven wrong though.

from my conversation (via email) with Brad at Brayder I assume that if he says mask rom (which cannot be changed) he means it. he sent me a special version of Jackflash to check flash info and the message i posted above is the result of that.... personally i think i'm out of luck with my TG50... still... some hope remains.... sort off...

Tiwee.... there is a difference between our 2 TG50's also in the way sony has installed app's between RAM and ROM, the diff's on my TG50 are in red (btw&nbsp;I have a lot more stuff in ROM than what's mentioned below)&nbsp;&nbsp;:

Jwang and HTC... can you guys tell us if your TG50's are set up any differently in the way app's are stored between ROM and RAM..... maybe the reason you have flash ROM available is because Sony didn't put all the bundled app's in ROM like in the first TG50's batches.... just a thought... on my TG50 the only bundled app in RAM was Clie Demo..........
