View Full Version : Lets talk internet via bluetooth
Someone's gotta know how to connect to the internet with our TG50's via bluetooth dongle on a PC. I cannot get it to work. I have tried makers of my hardware, NetFront, bluetooth software, and of course Sony. No one wants to support this, and it seems to me it should be possible. Does anyone know anything about the feasability of this that I don't? Perhaps it just isn't possible. I do believe Sony's claim of being able to surf on the PDA is a little bold. It is really only supported through a bluetooth phone (the fine print).

You need a bluetooth router. Since bluetooth chips are actually cheaper than Wifi, you should see them popping up EVERYWHERE very, very soon, very cheap. Currently the routers cost twice as much as wifi ones. :(

It is very possible. I do it all the time with my bluetooth dongle. Kam, you have to give us more details such as what type of bluetooth dongle you are even using. Also try doing a search. I had problems with the dongle at first but after searching for posts here on cliesource as well as the bluetooth forum on www.palminfocenter.com, I was able to get my bluetooth dongle setup and running. You just need to do some more research. Bluetooth setup was much more complicated than I anticipated.

yoyoYoo,
Do you use MochaPPP to connect to internet or simply use the Windows XP's ICS?
I tried both without any success.... :(

OK, would anyone care to mention 'how'? the only settings I see in the network/connection settins deal with PPP or SLIP - I've tried every way from sunday to get ICS to work through the dongle and I think I need the PPP tool - if there's a way to go without it, please let me know...

Hello, Fantastic you people are great. I now for the first time can connect my UX to my Toshiba via BT and HotSync and surf the net. One little snag. At first I was able to check my email from the UX to the Toshiba on my email client in Outlook. Now I cannot stupid me decided to switch off the request where I have to allow connect or not to automatic connection to my UX. I cannot find the settings where I have to allow the UX to connect to the laptop. Thanks in advance. Regards
