I'd like to find an SDIO camera that would work with my TX to do snapshots and video. The alternative would be to get this is a BT phone, but if I can find an SDIO on clearance or something it would be cool to have :)

I have a Veo, which worked with my m130 and T|3, but didn't work with my T|X, so you can scratch that off your 'possibles' list.

There's already a very detailed and recent thread at http://www.1src.com/forums/showthread.php?t=110342

However, to summarize, for the TX...

Spectec:
Spectec SD Camera (300K pixels)
http://i.expansys.ca/i/l/l104600.jpg
Info: http://www.spectec.com.tw/en/sdc-001a.htm (use IE)
Buy: http://www.expansys.ca/product.asp?code=SDC-01
Verdict: Works, but is only 300K pixels and has horrible drivers (low-res preview, only 2 image capture sizes: 160x160 and 640x480, and slow/bad video).

Spectec SD Camera (1.3MP)
http://i.expansys.ca/i/l/l104600.jpg
Info: http://www.spectec.com.tw/en/sdc-001a.htm (use IE)
Buy: http://www.expansys.ca/product.asp?code=121109
Verdict: Works, but has horrible drivers (low-res preview, only 2 image capture sizes: 160x160 and 1280x1024, and slow/bad video).

Pretec:
Pretec SDIO Smartcam (1.3MP pixels)
http://i.expansys.ca/i/l/l111190.jpg
Info: http://www.pretec.com/product/Mobile_peripherals/SDCamera.htm
Buy: http://www.expansys.ca/product.asp?code=111190
Verdict: Unknown. At http://www.clieuk.co.uk/Pretec.htm there as a review of it, showing it doesn't work on a T3, however at http://www.expansys.ca/forum.asp?code=111190 there are some updated driver that give functionality to T3 users, so it might work on a TX, but who knows...

Veo:
Veo Photo Traveler for Palm (300K pixels)
http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B00007FHEO.01.MZZZZZZZ.jpg
Info: http://veo.com/Traveler_Palm/default.asp
Buy: Discontinued. Try searching eBay or Amazon.
Verdict: There are some reports it doesn't work with a TX.

Veo Photo Traveler 130S (1.3MP)
http://images.zatz.com/websites/connectedphotographer/issues/issue200410/00001416-a-sm.gif
Info: http://veo.com/Traveler_130S/default.asp
Buy: Discontinued. Try searching eBay or Amazon.
Verdict: Although the website only lists it as PPC compatible, at http://veo.com/Traveler_130S/drivers.asp they have some unofficial drivers for the PalmOS, which apparently work with the T3, with hints at the possibility it might work with the TX...

Good summary! I have the Veo 130S for my T3 (a rebranded HP version of it lol), and it's wonderful! Much better than the lousy camera on my Zire 72.

Thanks for the link to the driver for the Veo Photo Traveler 130S. I have the HP version of the camera that now works great with my T3 (and iPAQs!). Too bad the software does not want to run on my Zodiac...

no, for the cheapo vga version. the 130s drivers are too easy. they can run on TX almost unmodified :-)

I think I'll just wait till I get a better BT phone with a decent camera. My T616's is really low-res but I think that's better than spending $$ on a relatively low res SDIO. Doesn't look like there is a good solution out there :(

I am not sure what and how to "modify" about the 130S drivers. I wanted to try with my LifeDrive, but the mentioned driver tells me that THIS device was not supported.

Also I am unsure which driver for PalmOS 5 You wanted to write...? For the cheap vga version? Oh, I think, I see!

I would be happy to hear from You! :-) Any hints are welcome.
