Good afternoon.

I can get a TG50 or an NX60 for the same price. Which, in the opinion of the forum members, would be better to get? Pros/cons? Thanks.

Right before the TG-50 came out, I was contemplating the same thing. I really like the clamshell design of the NX but the keyboard on the tg-50 was just so much better. I had an NR-70 and loved the idea of the keyboard but hated the way it was implemented. My vote goes to the TG-50

There are lots of threads on this in the past couple of weeks.

Bottom line:
1. Do you use bluetooth or WiFi?
2. Do you want a bigger screen or can you live with 320x320?
3. Do you want a lighter device or can you live with a heavier, bulkier one?
4. Do you mind flipping the screen every time you use it, or would you prefer just popping the cover up?
5. Do you prefer one's keyboard over the other?

My guess is one of these questions is more important than any of the others (for me, it was the size issue). Answer that question for yourself, then buy.

Based on my thread of recent where I had a choice between a TG50 and a NX70V, I would say go for the TG50. If you're just going with the NX60 and no camera than there really is no advantage to 'upgrading' to a clamshell design. Sure you get the HiRes+ display, but you also get that hinge which I have heard isn't very good in the long term. Also with the TG50 you get bluetooth, which you may or may not be using already, but I can tell you once you get one bluetooth device, the others will soon follow.

I say go for the TG50. I was in your same shoes. But what do I know, have you tried using and felt both units? That might sway your decision. And try doing a search because this topic has come up so many times, you'll find much better replies in the other topics. Goodluck.

I have chosen TG50 over NX60.
Screen bigger, Camera, can surf the net using WIFI.
All this does not sway my decision in buying TG50

I still like bluetooth, compact size, x factor and lighted key pad!
Well, still up to individual!;)

The NX60 doesn't have a camera!

I used the TG50, and moved to the NX70V (I couldn't get a NX60). I made that decision because the TG50 does not have an inline remote, and without one it makes MP3 playback a chore. There were also other factors like the noticeably smaller screen, and I already had a WiFi router for the WiFi card. It's all up to you, but look carefully.

The TG is my choice because I do not like drawing attention from those around me. I like to enter data on the fly without having people ask "what is that." My only regret was the cover because when it was opened it looked like a nx60, and with the cover off it looked ugly. So I returned it but bought it last week again because I figured I would cut half the screen cover and maybe add a clear cover (which it's done now). Now I'm very happy with it and don't miss the (nx70) at all.

I also have the nz90 and the two always fight for attention :-)

My NX70V doesn't draw a lot of attention, because I'm careful where I use it. I feel as strong about my NX70V as you do the TG50. I love having the choice between the keyboard (20 to 25WPM here), and Graffiti (15 to 20WPM). The extra screen is awesome when reading eBooks, or when using Documents to Go.

Of course what I really want (and will probably wait for) is a TG sized device with a 320*480 screen, 32MB (or more) of RAM, Bluetooth and WiFi built in. One can wish, can't he?

I really don't like the cover on the TG50. I wouldn't mind just leaving the cover off but it leaves that ugly hinge.

I've grown fond of the keyboard though having realised the potential use for games and emulators.

Even so I think I'll wait for the new 16MB+ palms (OS5 needs more than 16MB) now that PalmSource have just got that solved, plus Palm OS 5.1 or 5.2. I had too many problems with the OS on the Tungsten, so much so that I went back to a 675.
