My Tx is back and better than ever. They fixed the issue with the digitizer. The screen feels firmer.. solid and now works flawlesslly. The unit was not replaced (same serial #), but repaired (no refurb).... no hassle, no bickering and with a fairly decent turn around time..( 1 week)...woot
I loaded up all my apps and I'm extremely happy!!!
I suggest to anyone experiencing problems with the digitizer to contact PALM, obtain a RA#, and send the unit to their repair facility. It appears PALM is very much aware of the issue but will only address it at the owner's request. So its up to you. My 2 cents.

What exactly was your digitizer problem?

from my original thread....
I've had it with the erratic behavior of my TX.... well actually I love my TX....its the digitizer that was driving me nuts! Writing became a chore: I would get dots and more dots when I tried to "backspace"....my God it was so frustrating. It became difficult to play Solitaire and TextTwist with dead spots in the graffiti area and on the screen. I tried all of the self help methods of correcting the issue...recalibration, soft resets...hard resets....after market apps like Digifix, Redigi and Recal. removing the screen protector...everything.... Mind you this is my second unit!

You worried for Nothing :D. Palm is a big name in the market.
My only question is; why don't they put these digitizers on on the first place instead of making us jump through hoops? I returned my TX to buy.com because of this problem but have a feeling that will not be the end of it when I get my new TX. If this one poops out I may return it to Palm for a replacement digitizer even if it is still in the retrurn period.

I must admit I was initially very disappointed in my new T/X that I bought early this year, especially in comparison to my T/E which had served me so faithfully for over two years. I only decided to change over to the T/X because of the better screen and extra memory really as the T/E was a fantastic machine. I did not even know what a hard or soft reset was with the T/E. It just worked flawlessly.
The T/X had actually brought me to the point of dusting my old filofax. I had the lot, crashes, looping hard resets, mysterious soft resets, battery drain programme crashes etc.
However, I found the solutions I needed on this great forum thanks to all you contributors. Key solution was a total reinstall of all software, and a gradual reinstallation programme by programme, testing and installing slowly.
To-day my T/X is rock solid and I am very happy with it. Battery life is a dream, I actually forget to charge...Once in a while I get odd hiccup like a soft reset or a mysterious battery drain. however these have become few and far betwen occurances.
What I did do was install a backup programme. I save all my backups carefully and backup regularly....just in case...
Anybody want to buy a second hand Filofax hardly used ?
