Anyone use one of these? Good? How long is the mobile one?

Also, anyone use it with a T665?

It says

Compatible with: Clie PEG-T/NR/SJ/NX Series
NX70V/NX60/SJ30/SJ20/NR70/NR70V/T650C/T600C/T400/T615C/T415/T625C/T425

So I would think it does work fine.

Have you looked into the Brando Retractable USB Charger (http://www.glblsrc.com/shop/customer/product.php?productid=54) ?

I have one and it is nice and small. There are others available for less but I purchased mine from Global Source.

Has anyone tried theAC to USB Adapter (http://www.glblsrc.com/shop/customer/product.php?productid=55&cat=&page=) (to transform AC power to USB power) with the Brando Retractable USB Charger? I'd think that these would add up to a nice travel combination. How well does the adaptor work? And are there any issues to be aware of?

I can't provide a link right now because my work network admins block ebay, but you can pick up a multi-cable kit with USB, car charger, etc. for $9-15 including shipping. I got a kit and the quality is superb. Save yourselves some money! Go to ebay and search "sony clie cable or charger." ;)

I've been using a Belkin cable - synch/USB charge/car charger. It has worked fine although I haven't needed to try the car charger as of yet. Picked it up through Amazon. I thought it was a good buy at $11 but I see its down under $10.

I'm going with one of these:
http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=1&Product_Id=126196

cheaper on Amazon:

Car charger, USB cable, and USB charger.

Covers all my bases

That's better than I wanted.... and cheaper.

One item I may try is offered by a company called Moonlight-tech. They have a website and also offer their items on Ebay. Their "Sony Clie T NR USB 3 pc Hotsync Charging Kit" looks very interesting. It includes the USB sync cable, a car adapter and an AC wall adapter. The price on Ebay is $14.99 plus $5.25 shipping which is cheaper than their on-line price of $21.99 plus $4.25 shipping.

If anyone has feedback on this particular item, please share!

Yes. This charging kit is indeed smart. It uses USB connection for all the 3 charge type. The hotsync/charge uSB cable actually is plugged in either the car charger or the AC adapter using the USB port. Very smart in my opinion. I'm using them but its from another company. Only difference is the USB hotsync/charge cable I'm using is retractable.

I just bought the Belkin USB sync/charger with the car lighter attachment. I can plug my T415 into my PC USB and sync/charge. Then I can take the cable to my car, plug in the lighter attachment and charge while I drive. I think that it's a very nice package for $20 from Best Buy.

You're right. They do appear to be the same thing. Oh, well. I don't like to buy online anyway. So I'm happy with my find.

Here's an example:

128M SanDisk Mem Stick
Staples - $89
Best Buy - $57
Costo - $49
Buy.com (online) $34 - no shipping charge/ no tax makes the savings even more!

Odds of it being taken advantage of with a major retailer is no more than someone behind the counter using your credit card number.

I only deal with major retailers:
Amazon.com
Warehouse.com
Buy.com
Apple.com
Gateway.com
IBM.com
zones.com
macmall.com

The transmission is really pretty safe. The issue is who gets the info.

I wouldn't deal with small companies, just not a good practice. But big ones I have no issue with.

Since my credit card is my debit card and I use Quicken and sync with my bank daily, I will see any fraudulent use of my card very quickly, as happened once (and only once in 10+ years of Internet banking and purchasing).

I saw four strange charges, found a number for the company quickly and easily, called them and they acknowledged it was fraud. They were able to trace the charges to Indonesia, and it was obvious that I hadn't been to Indonesia in the last few days. They promptly issued credits. I hustled down to the bank and had the card killed and had another one in the mail in three days.

Not bad considering the tens of thousands of dollars I've saved over the years. I am discrete and not sloppy in my use of my credit cards online. Most safe sites now display "Verisign" as a seal of verified highly secure encryption of your confidential data. Of course what hackers can't break into today may be broken into tomorrow! But I feel that shopping online is as safe as going off and leaving your house (even locked) for a weekend or longer. If someone is determined to violate you, they'll do it!

I purchased the Adapter (for travel and away from my laptop) and it works fine. I have not noticed any problems with it.

I use the Adapter & Retractable Charger combo.

Make sure your HotSync Manager is on (PC) and use the HotSync "button" on your PDA to launch the program.

most of the retractable hotsync charger don't have any protection circuit in it. If you open it up, you will only see wire direct connect between the adapter and the usb port. If you buy a cheap AC usb adapter, once the voltage or current of the usb adapter jump up. You got the extra power direct inject into your clie and you might endup brow it up.

If you can only charge your nx70v but won't hotsync, it might be one of the cable inside the adapter have a loose connection or connected to the wrong leg. You have to open it up and check it out.
Please let me know if it got the protection circuit inside the retractable usb charger. (if you really take it apart)

thanks
