I have a clie NX60 and TCPMP. I convert MPG movies to MP4 at 320x240 because they play more smoothly then if they were 480x320. This means they display full width and half height on the clie, which is still acceptable.

Now I'll switch gears on you... I just got a used TREO 600. I thought It had a 160x160 screen so I converted a video to 160x120 and played it on the treo with TCPMP's video setting at 100%... It plays in a tiny window like it's at 50%.

So I played a 320x240 clip on the TREO in TCPMP at 100% and it plays full width and with a black bar at the top and bottom. The behavior suggests my screen is 320x320...

Anyone else experience this? Is it TCPMP changing the clip view size incorrectly, or is the treo really capable of 320x320? It looks like 320x320....

I ran LCDanalyzer and it says it's 160x160, but maybe that's just what it's SET TO. I also noticed that the 16 bit color space looks right. On futher research the TREO is supposed to use 11.5 bit [16 bit compatible] color, but there's no mention of resolution in the user guide.
I noticed it is 160x160, but that doesn't explain the weird behavior...

The Treo 600 is definitely low res (160x160). LCDanalyzer is correct and the number of pixels cannot be "set" anywhere in the system. You can compare your Treo to close-ups of hi res devices (e.g. Tungsten E/E2) and see that its display is not as smooth. I don't know why TCPMP does what it does, but you may want to try the "200%" or "stretch out" options.

I figured it out. with video quality set to "low", it play's back at 50%. therefore, a 320x240 at 100% of 50% will play at 160x120.
Set it to normal quality and 100% and it's over zoomed... [:D]

'ello :D here is nother weird problem with TCPMP, I was wondering if anyone know how to fix this. Before for a long while I used to play movies good and fine, picture good and sound is nice and loud. Now though for some reason the sound is soooooooooo soft, I can hear the video if I put it up near my ear. Anyone know why the sudden change of the sound quality? It still same movies I used to watch.

Look in the audio prefs in TCPMP. There's a volume slider AND a preamp slider. The preamp makes a huge difference.

In the menu you get if you tap on the title bar (not to be confused with the stuff you get by tapping the Pref button), there is an Equalizer item, with a preamp slider and sliders for different frequencies. Check them, too.

Thanks, that works but I was wondering why the change. I didn't have to use them before, it was loud enough without having to use preamp.
