Hi, I've recently bought an UX 50 in tip-top condition, but can't manage to change the default language (Deutsch). Any directions? Thanks and Best Regards.

Ps where to find a cheap battery extension/replacement for UX50?

Date formats, currencies etc can all be changed via the Preferences -> Format option, but as for changing the native language of the UX, I believe that this is a little more difficult. Try a search of the forum as I believe that Japanese models have been converted to English so it may be possible for german models too.

With regards to replacement batteries, many of us have bought the "Running Power" batteries which are widely available on eBay and are relatively cheap. I also suggest a search of the forums on "battery extender". These links should give you some pointers:

JCB-40 1800mAH battery (http://www.1src.com/forums/showthread.php?t=108682)

There are many other threads on this topic - have a dig! ;)

- If your UX speaks "deutsch" (german not dutch), you have a european UX with french/english/german.

So :
- backup your device, if there is something to backup.
- make a hard reset
- after the hard reset, you'll have the choice beetween the languages loaded on your UX.

Second solution : download "localize" and use it !
