I have a PEG SL10 . It seems to just stop working now and again (cant be turned on or reset), sometimes removing the batteries for 12 hours works sometimes it doesn't. Its not software as it happens even when it just runs the ROM programs and I dont think its the batteries. Any ideas or have I just bought a runt?

Thanks

I'd definitely return the unit for another one in your case, or send it off for repairs when you still have the warranty.

Are you putting in the batteries correctly? (polarities)

i'd exchange it with a clie thats NOT an sl-10. i've had many problems with mine. i hate it. i'm thinking about an sj-22

p.s. have you ever put your sl-10 in your pocket with a full battery and taken it out in a couple of hours, and "mysteriously" the batteries are dead and ALL your data is lost? that's happened to me alot.

Nope that hasn't happened to me before, could your pocket be so tight that it made the flip cover press onto the hardware buttons? My SL-10 has no problem at all, and I never put it in my pant pockets because of the tension that might break the screen.

Sounds like you may have found one with an internal prob. Time to try returning it, or contact Sony customer service. I had to do that once, and had a response in less than 24 hours. As to batteries, I've found that cheap batteries cause all kinds of probs. Stick with Energizer or Duracell, they seem to work the best. Best of luck :)
