There a way to use a launcher running from the memory stick, and if not that at least get its skins and what not from the memory stick?
ZLauncher and MegaLauncher are the 2 I am looking into.

None of both can be run from memory stick, because they manage the filetransfer from and towards memory stick, so they *need* to be in ram.
ZLauncher can move not used skins and backimages to the card and transfer them back to memory automatically when needed (and put the not needed back to card automatically). But over all Zlauncher uses more memory than megaluncher (Try yourself !)
I used megalauncher for a while and switched to ZLauncher recently, because it is more configurable to my needs.
I accepted the bigger memoryfootprint of ZL...

It kind of depends on what model Clie you have also. If you have a Palm OS 4.x clie, then you can use the skins and such for Megalauncher at least from VFS if you have PiDirect installed. I haven't tried this on my NX yet because I haven't seen anything about PiDirect on OS 5. I used PiDirect on my NR70V though and kept my skins (before megalauncher 4.x) on my mem stick.

If space is becoming an issue, you may want to look into JackFlash...it lets you use the free space in your ROM that is not usually accessible . . . ;)

Remember, if you put a launcher on MS and take out the MS, you don't have a launcher anymore.Wee, you do, but it will be the default launcher.

I keep ZL and my favorite theme and BG in Flash and they work great.

On an OS4 device you can keep the launcher in PiDirect. I would not advice it, but it does work.
