i've had my wifi card since last x-mas (yes, it was around $150 then) and almost gave up on it because of little problems here and there related to connecting and using it reliably. imo, it never worked well enough for me to use it regulary.
i can live with the antenna sticking out about an inch, but i can't live with the card getting stuck in the endless 'retrying' loop while trying to connect.
well..just a couple of days ago, sony released their latest update on wifi drivers as many of you probably know. it looked like it solved some of their main issues. I wasn't getting the 'retrying' loop anymore. i could actuallly connect/disconnect to my network and check email and send email. I was even lucky enough to get a copy of versamail and got 3 IMAP accounts to work flawlessly. Today was actually the first day I saw IMAP accounts working on my clie. I almost cried.
After working nicely for about 15+ hours, now it's not even giving me 'retrying' error. It just tries to connect to my network and gives up after so many minutes. thanks, sony.
I'm hoping that other wifi users have seen this issue and there's a 'workaround' or 'hack'. I'm also hoping that non-wifi owners read this and understand that wifi on clie isn't exactly the promise land you imagine.
Yes, you can between home wireless network to work wireless network easily. Yes, you can sync with your laptop or desktop via wifi. yes, you can check your email and somewhat browse the net on your clie. But, expect to lose some sleep over.
Thanks for any suggestions/comments in advance,
