unfortunately easy lock does not work under OS 5 and the developer does not intend to rewrite it. Is there any similar product available ?

Forgot to give a brief description of easy lock:

Nobody likes to enter a password every time the Palm is turned on. This is absolutely against the concept of the Palm, anyway. So what else could you do? You would like a mechanism allowing you to access your Palm easily and fast, but at the same time giving you safety of your data.

Well, EasyLock is a program that tries to do just that. When you turn your Palm on, you have to "login" by pressing a certain button (which you have choosen before) within a certain period of time. We will call this button the "login-button". If the login-button is not pressed or if a wrong button is pressed, the internal password protection of your Palm will get started.

Pressing your login-button (optionally two) at power-on will soon be done automatically and you probably will not even notice it anymore. If it now happens that your Palm gets lost you can safely assume that the finder does not know about the protection (and even if he would know, he would have no clue which button would be required). He would first try to switch the Palm on and after a few seconds the big surprise: the Palm is locked.

An additional advantage is that the security application can display a text you previously entered, for instance your address and phone number, so that the chance that your Palm gets returned is a little bit higher than with one where the finder does not know how to find your address.

Check PalmGear or Handango. Teal lock is one choice, and it looks like there are a few others.
