It is in the ROM portion of your clie, in other words it's built-in. You enable it to work in concert with your desktop's file manager. It enables your clie to behave like an external disk drive to your PC to do file operations like copy, move, delete, etc.

See whether you PC recognizes the new drive automatically. Or you may have to install the "MS SCSI Driver" in order to let your PC recognize this drive. Have a look in your CLIE CD-ROM and find it (in my TG50 CD-ROM it's located at \PC\MS SCSI Driver.

Installed the SCSI drivers on my Win XP desktop and it still won't connect to my NX70 with MS Import. I'm having to use MS Import on my T615, then take the memory stick and use it in my NX70. t's a pain. Any suggestions?

ooh. hmm, I just connected mmy cradle via usb and installed ms export on my desktop from the clie cd. Click on ms import on my clie when it's docked in the crade and my computer automatically recognizes a "new drive".
I have an nx70v and use win xp pro.
ALSO, don't plug it in via a usb hub. I have a common usb belkin hub which didn't work with the clie (sony warns you to connect the cradle directly to your computer). Connecting it directly to my computer works fine.

Aha! That may be my problem; I've got it plugged in through a hub

Mine works fine through my Belkin Hub, always has. I realize that all machines may not be created equal though.

My NR works fine through a hub as well (good thing, as I've got a laptop w/ only one USB port!)
