1SRC has launched a podcast survey system. SplashTravel and Easy Tour; one in the same?! A quick review of Word Manaco. The Palm Treo 700p has been sighted on the Palm site, and then vanishes again! David Beers on Palm's Linux moves and this week's 1SRC Editorial. [details (http://www.1src.com/?m=show&id=1542)]

Great podcast Alan...

After playing around with the Nokia 770, I really think that Palm's Linux device would work. Can't wait to see what it has to offer!

Good podcast. Lots of varied interesting stuff.

Are there any rumours regarding a new LifeDrive or TX style handheld?

Thanks, Joel, Vampie.

I haven't heard about any new non-Treo rumos yet this year. I did have from a good source that Palm will be releasing new Palm handhelds. Nothing more than a commitment that 2006 will not become the year of the Treo only Palm line.

your reference to being able to project the screen onto a wall reminded me of an old scifi novel (1976) by Arhtur Clarke, Imperial Earth, in which the hero uses a handheld device called a minisec which projects the screen on the wall. Supposedly it was the inspiration for the line of HP calculators.
My fascination with handheld devices started in the late 1970s, before most of your readers were born. See my list of handheld devices below. I still have most of them and many still work!

I was surprised to find that the servey had so many questions about me and my preferences (some even about non-palm or even non-techy related) and not exclusively about Alan and the podcast itself. I hope this is not a sign that you guys are planning on adding advertising clips of some kind. I really like the podcast the way it is now.

First of all thank you. Secondly, don't worry about the format of the show changing anytime soon. Reggie and Joel give me full control over the podcast topics.

I did speak with Reggie after I first talked about the survey. The main reason for the PodTrac link on the show is more for traffic statistics than anything else.

So, rest assured, there are no plans to add ads into the podcast anytime soon.
