The Clie Organizer is probably one of the best applications that I've ever used. One problem... it can crawl to a stop. Imagine if it's in a LifeDrive, TX, or even the Treo... I'll surely get the device if it's built-in next. I'll even get it even if it's released as shareware.

Anyway, how possible is it for Sony to "give" CO to Palm? CO is an application that I'm sorry to see fade away.

I am afraid, this is nearly impossible.
I entered PDA world after sony had left the market, but it was a great shock, when I started to discover a world of sony clies (not produced anymore) line. It was like being a medieval soldier who just found a relics of a dead, but very modern and advanced race.

Nice description... and I can understand what you mean. :) But as long as there's Palm, there's hope.

Sorry Joel, here's where we have to agree to disagree. I don't share your enthusiasm for CO at all. Been there . . . done that . . . got the T-shirt, and will never use it! CO's GUI is absolutely boring, compared to DateBk / Agendus. If JackSprat worked on TH55s, CO would be deleted forever.

I've just re-discovered CO and I kinda like it. It's my day-to-day PIM at the moment. I've also created some new stickers which have also made it more relevant to what I do.

Amongst other little touches, I like that it puts a little media icon on the days that you created some picture/sound/movie/note content.

And yes, it can be s l o w ! ! ! ...and the desktop CO is even worse.

But I like where it's coming from and if nothing else it again show's how Sony were at least trying to think outside the box.

I have to agree with wellsjs. I tried CO and really wanted to like it. However, the speed is deplorable, and it's missing some key features that I have come to rely on with DB5, e.g. copy an appt. I copy appts all the time and really find it an inconvenience that CO won't even do that among other things. But the speed is what really killed it for me.

Ok, so Palm should buy it from sony and improve it a bit :) ...
On current 400MHz processors, there will be no problem with speed ;) .

Ok....sci-fi...

Stuff licencing CO, Palm should licence Sony's entire PalmOS division!! :D

CO's main problems are that it's a first-gen attempt, and therefore a bit buggy, but also its speed. With a bit of optimisation and bug blatting it'd be much better, and I said right from the get-go that CO on something as fast and as spacious as a T|3 would be totally killer!

Lan Man It may be not copy as well as DateBook 5, in CO to copy an appointment -choose the event, then highlight the text, push the 4 th button, choose New date book data, then copy appointment with new date and time. Still not as powerful as Datebook 5 in copying over alarm setting and icons etc. The main issue with CO is it does not have a detailed manual on its use. So many people look at it and with out experience with other programs such as Datebook 5 or Agendus or left to flounder.
