View Full Version : Stylus orientation entry moves... why?

I find that I have to go to the "welcome" quite often to re-center the orientation of my stylus entries. What I mean is, for example, tapping directly on something after I recenter works fine but then at some point later, I'll have to tap just to the right or left or below or above that point. Sometimes it's worse than at other times. I "solve" this problem by clicking on the welcome icon and going through the quick taps to re-center but this becomes a hassle. Any clue why this happens or what I can do to stop it?
Thanks

How old and what device? I see this tends to happen on older devices, but considering this is posted in the T series forum I am guessing your clie isn't very old and thus should not behaving this problem, maybe your unit will pay a visit to Sony Service Center :)

T415 - have only had it for 'bout 13 months. Been doing this for a long time though.

Hmm, too bad its out of warranty, I am guessing you didn't purchase a replacement plan?

Ah, but of course I did - and from Circuit City who pretty much replaces, rather than repairs :) But this isn't a big enough problem for me to use the replacement plan with - just a minor inconvenience I was hoping someone else might have dealt with. I'll be using the replacement plan around the end of the year.

Thanks for the try though.

Don't know why your screen is "off". But an easy way to the "digitizer" to recenter the taps is to go to the preferences icon and from the top right pull down menu select Digitizer. I had a similar problem with an old Vx but had it replaced. Even a hard reset wouldn't help. It was so bad that I couldn't even get to the prefs screen.;)

One thought though...are you knocking or playing rough with your Clie, I found that after a good thump on the ground or against another object would cause a similar "digitizer" problem.

He has already gone through the digitizer, he says so in his first post.
