I'm in need of a stopwatch program that can count down from 3 minutes (and show the countdown) and ring an alaram at the end.

Is there some Palm OS 5 app (compatible with TX) that will do this? I need this by tomorrow night at 6pm for an important event.

I own Palmary Clock Wireless and love it. It can do what you ask an lots more time-related stuff (MP3 alarms too).

I like mobileClock (http://www.palmgear.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=software.showsoftware&PartnerREF=&siteid=1&prodID=51750) (formerly Bob's Alarm). It includes a stop watch and what you want, a timer. Works on my LifeDrive so it should work on your TX.

Palmary clock gives you a world map replacement, moon phase, weather forcast, currency converter, and atomic clock sync. I use it so much I mapped it to a hard button :)

mobileCLOCK looks really cool too. I never got around to trying it.

Toast Timer works on my TX, it's free and allows for multiple timers if needed. I use it in the lab all the time to keep track of multiple reaction times. Khronos is a free stopwatch that also works on the TX. :)

I use WatchMaker and Tiktok - both free from freewarepalm.com IIRC.

Which one is hires? I wouldn't mind a hires version if it works... :)

BigClock drains the battery of my TX if any alarm or timer is setup.

It was great on the m105. I'm still searching for a replacement.

Higuys,

I'm also looking for a freeware countdown/timer app, but I would add that it need to wake up the palm because I will typically use it to tell me when my 42- minute runs are about done. Most timers I have seen are in 5-minute increments.

thx

PocketDoan is a free meditation timer which will provide a tone shortly before the end of the period. You can schedule multiple periods. Interface isn't pretty but it gets the job done when you want several sequential timers.

Title: TikTok (http://palmsource.palmgear.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=software.showsoftware&prodid=5466#)
Version: 2.25 (11/17/2006)
Hardware:
* Any device running Palm OS 2.0 or greater.
* Palm OS 5 Compliant.
* Supports the QVGA high-resolution screen of the HandEra 330!

"TikTok is designed to be a simple (with alarm), no nonsense, timer utility for a Palm OS device. Using it is dead simple. Tick on a checkbox to start a timer, edit it's description to tell you what it is you are timing. Simple!"

i use it and it works great.

Hi, Less Than Zero (less-than-zero.en.softonic.com/palm) will sound an alarm plus simulate a HardButton push and more. Works ok on my TX :)

All the best, woz of oz

I highly recommend Toast Timer! As long as you lock it with RescoLocker it is very stable on my TX. You can preset a ton of times and start/stop each one with a hard key.

I figured out that BigClock can be configured as an alarmed timer that will wake up your Palm. It had a better interface than any of the other timers I've tried out.

thx

Palmary Clock and Megaclock are the best on the market (at least for non Treo devices), but I think Palmary Clock has an upperhand.

Look no further than Palmary Clock

OBSo I know Palmary Clock will run applications on a schedule, but I didn't know it could also select a menu option to make something happen once the application is open. (I admit that I have not studied the manual. :o ) Can it do that too?

Palmary Clock will "ring" and then launch an app of your choise.

OBYes, that I know. Will it then cause that application to do a subfuntion? I know 2PalyMe can be set to simulate pressing a button within a launched application, which is important if the application comes up and presents options, rather than just doing its function.

The short answer for Parlmary Clock is NO. 2PlayMe, if I understand it right, can be set to run an app OR a Macro after an alarm, but NOT both. (CB - is that correct?) So you'd have to create a macro that launches the app and then the required taps/strokes to work the app. Could be messy.

Anyhoo, this functionality is very different from the question first posed which was really only for a simple timer app.

Back to the original question... WatchMaker has a great interface for preset timers and quickset timers. For the quickset ones, you just tap on the clockface where you want the alarm to ring (it tells you how much time that is, and visually shows the current and target state of the countdown while the timer is set).

I've used Palmary, MegaClock, Tiktok and others, but I keep coming back to WatchM.
