Own LifeDrive--hate it (anyone want to buy one under warranty?). Bought T/X. Named T/X same user name as LifeDrive and was really glad to see that when I plug charger in for T/X, the LifeDrive Manager pops up and the LifeDrive drop program mode becomes available. I have used it to put a lot of new programs on T/X.

This week when I plugged T/X hotsync cable into computer I got the keeptypical pop-up window saying LifeDrive manager is ready to use. I tried to drop programs on, but I keep getting a window saying: "Unexpected Palmerror (2a09) has occurred." Then I have to hotsync the old fashioned way UGH. Any ideas?

Posted this problem here on LifeDrive since any T/X owner not owning LifeDrive would have no idea what LifeDrive manager does.

Thanks in advance.

...but LD manager and Drive mode dont work on a TX afaik (although DM can be 'made' to work)- LD manager is a desktop facility and TX firmware knows nothing about it....so....whats yer problem??

I suggest archiving your data for your Contacts, ToDo, Notes, etc in Palm Desktop to your PC then uninstall your Palm Desktop and install the one that came with the TX. Then import the archive files. Then hotsync. Your problems should go away.

Seems you all misunderstood. I have no problem hotsyncing the T/X actually--I just happen to know that the T/X WILL work using the LifeDrive installer since it did work for a few weeks. Don't need to lecture me that LifeDrive is desktop software--I am telling you that T/X loads using LifeDrive software.

As for hotsyncing--my T/X hotsyncs just fine. I don't need to remove LifeDrive software. I was just wondering if anyone can figure out a way to restore the LifeDrive Installer function so I could drag and drop to T/X since I am getting an error message now. It's just a lot easier to drag and drop, and the program is immediately there versus hoysyncing.

I know EXACTLY how you can solve this problem.

First, you take back your T|X to wherever you go it.

Go to Best Buy (or Office Depot if you want) and buy a LifeDrive and then install the LifeDrive Manager software and USE THE LIFEDRIVE!

Drag and drop to your heart's content!

bscblue--try to grasp that both LifeDrive and T/X are Palm products, so while your staying "true blue" and defending the LifeDrive is admirable, there's no real point in doing so to me (and Palm has our money either way). Since it's apparent that you didn't read my post, you obviously did not realize that I HAVE a LifeDrive.

I own BOTH LifeDrive and T/X--that's how I know you can drag and drop using the LifeDrive installer with the T/X. I have owned a LifeDrive a year in July. It's WAY too heavy, too finicky, too SLOW, too bulky and too limited in RAM.

I have owned M100, IIIC, M500, Zire 72, T3, and LifeDrive. Currently I own both LifeDrive and T/X (just traded in T3 for money at Palm). That's how I know the T/X can drag an drop--I DID IT ALREADY.

So, unless you have knowledge of both LifeDrive and T/X, don't respond--you're wasting time and space.
