Don't you remember the days when Palms would come with a little booklet with all different software titles, that's how I came across my first apps. I know that companies don't like including extra paper, but it would be cool if Palm included something like this on the CD. Remember the good old days??? :) Great podcast by the way. Thanks for staying away from the Treo rumors, lol.

Of course Palm would say there is no Hollywood with the 700w being out, and the 700p on the way. Palm learned from the m5xx disaster.

Ya, I do. That's how I learned about all my first apps also. I agree, it is too bad that Palm doesn't provide that information any more. While I'd agree that putting the book online as a PDF file on the CD would be a good idea, I still think that having the paper in the box would be a better way to get people to look at it.

Check and mate! Once again, I agree. Let's assume for just a minute that Palm is going to release a WM 5 Treo without an antenna, and just about the only thing that "we" have wrong is the name, then yes, I would expect Palm to be shouting that there is no "Hollywood". It's the whole a rose by any other name thing.

Hey Alan,

I'm really enjoying the podcast. Keep it up!

I know you are getting tired of the rumors, but please continue to regularly update us on them. Not only am I a hardcore Palm addict, but a small investor trying to keep up with PALM as a stock investment.

The rumors of what Palm is doing with the next Palm, when it comes out, and what features will be included will affect it's place in the overall marker and stock price. So I like it.

Plus I imagine that all Treo users want to know how "Our Team" is doing.

ANd I really enjoy your software reviews as well. I'm always on the look out for a new killer app.

Do you think there will be any chance of doing a Docs to Go, Wordsmith and Office Whatever comparison. I'm tired of the bugginess of Docs to Go. I have resets that just plain blow my documents off the card, so now I do the majority of my typing in Memo Pad.

By the way, with my small Palm research, I think PALM might run as high as $30 from the 22.60 that it's at now. Get rich, buy in now!

I base this on the fact that Palm will dominate Blackberry as the business choice, the growth of smartphones (over dumb) and fact that convergence devices will eventually overtake things like the Ipod. Once America and the world realizes what we Treo users have known for years, then the company will take off!.

Hopefully when that happens Palm will take bold steps to have the best Smartphone instead of just the meat and potatoes Smartphone.

Don't worry Roger, I'll continue to cover the lates rumors about new devices. However, in the last two weeks, there has been so much FUD about the remaining threee Treos to be released this year, I've just felt that there is no real value in spreading non-verifiable information. Things are really fuzzy after the Treo 700p launch on Sprint sometime in May or June. Silly Season has officially been upgraded to Treo Insanity. And while it is fun to track all of this stuff and try to figure out what Palm is doing, I don't want every show to trade only in rumors.

Ok, what I'm fairly sure of is that Palm is working on their own Linux-based operating system. ALP will have little or no bearing on Palm going forward. I would expect the first devices (Treos and Palm handhelds) to appear running what I've called "Palm OS II" at some point in 2007.

I guess if people answer the survey that is linked to your podcast you might be encouraged to do more podcasts with the survey results.
Your underserved audience(those with non-mp3 devices like Z-22) and others may upgrade to Treo Lifedrive and Tungsten or move on.
Any survey may give better data than speculations biased observers may give. The survey didn't ask what device the user /listener was using, or specific purchase of palm software.

I answered the survey. Was kinda long.

The podcast was pretty short this week huh?

I prefer shorter podcasts. They fit better in my daily commute.
