Can anyone tell me if they actually use PictureGear Studio?

I am tempted to find another programme, considering my total inability to simply enlarge a photo before printing - and I'm a pretty smart guy!

Sorry, I never use it. I have many other photo apps that are a breeze to use :).

Can't tell you either.
PhotoEditor in MSOffice.
StarDraw/Image in OpenOffice
and many other apps are definitely better than Sony's small app.
But if you want to enlarge a photo you need a programm with some plug-ins which smooth your pick and readjust the colors, otherwise you will have very poor pictures.
Photoshop at work does a pretty good job- if you can afford one of course.

well, I use it, and it seems nice, I don't have a printer, so I don't print photos. but there is a glitch in the picture gear, if you rotate the pic in there, the actual pic don't change :(

StarDraw, PaintshopPro and Gimp. Especially the last one is a great tool, with more features then Photoshop (but compatible) and opensource, just like StarDraw

Gimp? More features than Photoshop? Can't believe. I'll check that...

I use Adobe Photoshop to manage most of my pictures for the Clie, since NX supports the JPG format. It also loads up faster compare to *.PRC format, but in PictureGear you can change the format to *.prc where you might want to beam your photo with your address book profile to other Clies models.
