Anyone know an easy way to print address labels from the palm desktop?
I went to Palm site, was told to :
select address to be printed
and go to edit menu
select "send to"
Word
"send to" is not a selection on my desktop.
Wondered if it was different with the sony?
Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have MS Word installed on your PC?

All you need to do is right click on the address in the main window that you want and then click on 'send to'... MS Word. Then use MS Word's tool's menu and look for the Envelopes and Labels. No it's no different with the Sony.

The 'send to' is only there in the Palm Desktop's list view. I am using Palm Desktop v4.1 and it shows both MS Excel and MS Word under 'send to' context menu. If you bring up the actual individual address, it's not available and your only choice would be cut and paste. Now I don't remember if the 'send to' is in earlier versions of the Palm Desktop. You should be able to safely upgrade by uninstalling and either re-install or update without losing any data. I never had a problem, but it couldn't hurt to make a copy of the folders just in case. If everything is as it should be, then reinstalling the Palm desktop maybe your only fix.

I don't think the Send To is available for Palm Desktop v4.01 that ships with the CLIE (another pet peeve of mine). Rumor has it you can upgrade your desktop software, but you have to do something funky w/ the USB drivers.

Thank you!!
I thought I was going crazy. Looked at Palm download site, but was afraid to try it, cause it's a sony.
It's amazing how hard it is in today's computer age to print address labels. Say, a sheet of all business entries. Only way I know is through MS access.

I have nothing to add other than did anyone figure out how to do the labels. I need this option badly. Otherwise I am forevery typing into two different address and label makers.

I don't think anyone has figured out the labels for the palm OS. I can't believe they haven't it's so much a basic need.:(

Thank you for your reply. Do you think that there would be any advantage in contacting Sony for their input? Have a good day.

It wouldn't hurt. It would be interesting to see their reply

I see what I can do over the next several days. Their site however, seems to be difficult to locate the proper links to get information.

If anyone knows how to print address labels from the Sony Desktop (SJ series) please email me. I switched from Palm to Clie and then realized you can't do it with Clie like you can with Palm.
Thank you.

Can't you switch back? I know it's a pain, I use the regular Palm v4.1 desktop for my NX.
