My palm zire battery life is finally beginning to drain faster, with that said, does anyone know how long the battery life is supposed to be?

I don't know if you are aware of a charging circuit reset, but if you do a soft reset while your Palm is plugged into a charger it should help. For some reason PDA's get confused about how much real juice is left in the battery every so often and needs help.
Also you might want to check out Warpspeed from www.palmpowerups.com, I use this to adjust the clock speed of the processor so I'm not wasting battery life while I'm reading an ebook or other non-intensive processor tasks.

Thanks guys for the help... the battery life is now only about 45-60 min. long. :(
I have stopped using power-sucking apps, and the batt life extended itself a few minutes. Right now I am losing 5% power per five min.

... a contradiction in terms
on a serious note. try a hrd reset.
then full battery drain [for this reset while holding the down button, and leave it unplugged after this]
give it a few days
5 hour charge
soft reset while charging
hard reset
see how it is now, BEFORE installing any apps

You could simply install a new battery. It takes little effort, simply a few small tools.
