I am new to PDAs and I need some suggestions please.

1. Where can I download some movies or movie clips that I can install on my TG50?

2. Can I install them on my memory stick and run it from there to spare the colossal space they will take up on RAM?

Thank you!

First of all, you must install the movie clips on the memory stick for you to view movies. The movies could be converted by the Image Converter software bundled in your CLIE CD-ROM.

The converted MQV files are placed \MQ_ROOT\100MQV01 folder in your memory stick.

Originally I don't want to mention the following since this site is not in English. But since several people in this forum ask about MQV download, I can tell you that the following website has several MQV movie trailers for download:
http://www.so-net.com.hk/pda/multimedia/film_home.jsp

Well, this site is supported by Sony Hong Kong and the movies there are also produced by Sony. (What a ...)

An addition: in the archive section of the same site there are also some more MQVs:

You can download trailers or other things but need a software to convert them to be read by the TG50. There's one called Kinoma producer. You can go to Kinoma.com and order it for a small fee.

When you go to custom output, make sure you select the Yamaha APCDM format instead of the Sony format for it to work.

Well, the websites I mentioned do not require any conversion since they are already in converted MQV format.

Movies in MPEG or AVI or MOV need conversion in order to be read by Movie Player.

The TG50 DOES natively support MPEG 1 (.mpg) granted that it's in the proper directory. Using the MPEG feature on a Sony cam will show you this directory.

What directory is that? I'd like to be able to view mpg files natively without the trouble of having to go back to my comp and convert them

use Image converter~ to comvert mepg files and transfer to MS. u can install image converter from clie CD

u have to go back to ur comp to transfer the file to ur clie anyways~ so...use image comverter will do the both <covert + import> ...and it reduces the orginal clip size too.~

My point was where could I find this directory so I could view mpg files NATIVELY. I do not, repeat do not, want to use converter. It completely defeats my purpose.

put the .MPG files in this directory....

worked for me at least, you can play them with the default Clie
movieplayer.

/DCIM/101MSDCF/MOVXXXXX.MPG

XXXXX is any default number.......

ive got a much bigger problem, cant use MS EXport and Import. If you can, please help me. Only can transfer files through installing through hotsync, but damn slow.

REad about it here:

All help is much appreciated. :D

hmm...its too bad it doesn't support .mpeg files. What about quicktime files natively?
