What's the best (ideally but not necessarily free) memo replacement that stores data in the standard memo database files (and supports the newer Palm format of these) and supports hi-res+?
One things I'd really like is the ability to sort by date (may be hard with standard format). I had this on my Sharp 7xx, and it was really helpful for finding what I've been thinking about recently.
I don't need to link in pictures or insert drawings. I just want something that enhances the memo usage a little.

Try Crs-memo - http://muchy.com/review/crsmemo.html It's smaller size and allows you to export/import memos in .txt format on card.

SoS, I use it on my Sony UX50 - PalmOS 5.2 - works perfect.

If you work a lot with your memos, give a try to PsLink and FindMemos (http://pegros.free.fr/softs/index.php).

PsMemo looks really good, but I wish there was a date sort. Moving the last edited memo to the top is a start, but not quite enough.
If I had the PsMemo source code (as far as I can tell, it's closed source freeware), I would add a time stamp at the very end of each memo record, say "{{PsMemo:TimeStamp:yyyymmddhhmmss}}", and then hide that part of the memo when it's actually being edited. Then one could sort by the stamps and all would be well.
Is there any open source memo replacement? (Perhaps not. I think a lot of memo replacements are based on Palm's Memo code, and Palm's sample code license prohibits making source code public.)
I love my mom

Well, I don't know about memo replacements, but I always say Sf.net when I hear opensource :D

I use Sied, works directly with .txt and allows two files at time
