Is the NX screen or digitizer the same thing as the NR equivalent?

Does anyone know if the NX screen is interchangeable with the NR screen?

If it is the same part number?

I am willing to open mine and look for a part number if someone with an NX can do the same...

If not the same part, is anyone enlightened enough to know the technical specs and be able to tell if the NX screen will work on an NR (ie. same dimensions, connectors, and power consumption).

SB-Pete, it´s not as easy like with the NR to open the
Screenpart of the NX, cause Sony changed the screws.
You need a very special (5-star) tool to get it unscrewed.
So I think that there is very less chance to get this answered.

when you say a five star, do you mean a "torx" screwdriver or a special tool made by Sony. If Torx, then they are easy to get, if it is a Sony special key like those made for car wheel lugnuts, then it could get complicated... someone please let me know...

hmmm, I guess I never actually counted the pins on the stars. you are right. Still, what one could do is find the relevant torx size in a 6 star and shave off three of the pins and it should probably fit into the screw hole. I dont have it in front of me so I cant tell you for sure but I have done something similar in the past modifying a cable box and it worked there, in that case it was 7 pin. Anyways, maybe someone with an NX and a torx set can take a look at how they line up and see if this might work.

Easiest way to do so is to put little pieces of scotch tape off the ends of the torx bits and see if you can get at least three to line up together.

I think little man is right though and that 5 stars do exist. My tiny set here has only six star torx drivers though, all three of em. ahhhh to live without my tools - that is the worst part of studying abroad.
