Letting unit sit idle

I have had my NR 70 since last summer. I find I am using it less and less but with the memory stick problem it has not sure I could sell it for much.

If I let it sit idle without charging it, will it be able to be recharged at a later date?

Yes, but it will lose its data when the battery goes dead. As long as you have a back up or current hot sync, that is not a problem.

The memory Stick problem is fixable. There are a number of posts here and around the web about how that can be fixed pretty easily. The short version is that the MS contacts need to be insulated from the back of the case (after some use they relax a bit and make contact with the rear case cover). You remove a few screws (6, I think), remove the back cover and put a piece of tape or paper or plastic on the cover to insulate it from the MS contacts. If you need pictures, search around the web a bit, there are more detailed instructions out there.
