 Hey all...
just want to say, this is the NICEST site for advice that I've come across so far. I have a UX50, and as I got it used, had to start from scratch. I'm not at all computer-savvy, but this site helped me soo much. ***Thank you all!!!***
ok, next issue...
I own a motorola mpx200, and i've upgraded the software to 2003. I've only been able to beam mp3's or pics via IR from my clie, and have not been able to use the mpx as a modem. I've searched the web for hours, no luck. Can anyone help?

Hate to say it, but it isnt really worth it to use IR as a connection for web browsing. Its too slow, and you have to keep the devices within line of sight. The UX50 has BT I believe, so my best advice is to wait until you can get your hands on a BT cellphone, and you may be able to connect with that. Unfortunately, due to the age of the UX, you cant always tell which phones you can connect with, and it will be a hassle. Maybe try a Treo? 700p should be out soon.

Can you tell us where exactly you are stuck? Does it happen when you connect, before that, after that...etc. And do you get any specific error?

I appreciate your help Mr Freak01 !! ;) I know I should just get a newer phone, but for some reason I love the MPX200. I favor flip phones, I like the size, and memory card slot is awesome. Plus I really hate the idea of having an expensive phone and.. knowing my luck I'd lose it.
I have tried to use my hubbie's BTooth phone to connect, and I just can't get it right. (Duh, yep, I'm a dummy) The last time that my clie was online via my desktop BT dongle-thing, I had just done a hard-reset on the clie, hadn't touched the settings on desktop, and had entered the home page address without thinking. Voila.. it was up!! It ran so fast, no hang-ups, but I went out in my car, shut it off, and when I returned, NO MORE NET.
Sorry for the rant, but I am pulling out my hair.....

OK, here goes.
Desktop is Pentium 4, with DSL. Iogear USB Btooth dongle-thingy, that worked GREAT last time.
*In pref->connections, connecting to PC VIA B.tooth, device shows my PC.
((I can hotsync perfectly with this.))

*In network, using "Windows RAS", name & p.word blank, via the B.tooth connection. In Details, Conn type PPP, no check in boxes for Query DNS and IP. No script entered.

*Finally in Netfront 3.1 (thx Jamerican!), cache is 300, checked "Use proxy" box. Proxy is the Ip address that shows up in the B.tooth LAN access driver in my network cconnections on my PC. The netfront progress thing moves, as if trying to open the page, but I ALWAYS get "NETWORK TIMEOUT", after approx 90 secs..

I have no idea what I just wrote, but I'm confident it makes sense to someone else!!!!

If anyone can help... I would SO appreciate it!!!!!

if you're a gsm user maybe you can try mobile hi-speed from novamedia.de it has almost all setting for gsm phone pairing using IR or BT
