That is the same thing that the other member here is having (hope, look for threads started by him).
Yeah, see if you can send it to Sony, if it is under warranty, if not, send it to Chris Short. :)
Yep, same thing. Do you hear anything loose? I do in mine. I'm pretty confident something in there is breaking the connection and it just needs to be buttoned up. Something Chris Short has experience doing. I figure the internals just need to be secured a bit more and it'll be fine. I've actually been using my NX73 quite happily lately and just haven't had the time to send it to Chris. I emailed him and he said he would take a look and I'm certain he has the ability to fix it. Though, he did say he had never worked and barely heard of what a VZ90 was but he was familiar with the TH and UX, which have similiar if not identical internals. Email him and if you send it, let me know. I'm fortunate enough to have a few PDA's and not worry about one. Luckily nothing else is wrong with my VZ and I still play games on it and sometimes watch a few shows. 1hr of Warfare and not even a dent in the battery, so sweet. But, without the CF card working I can't do the transfers from MS to CF, which was important to me, and I don't 100% trust it for my main PDA just yet. I'm not worried though. Keep us updated.

i have my Japanese friend to check with sony about this machine. The answer from Sony is that as far as their are ? on the machine, that means the system find this CF card. It is really kudelmudel. Today after slide in and out the screen several times and plug the cf again, it is recognize again. that is a really strange clie i have ever met. I am now also back to my NX80.
That's true. If the system shows a "?", it must see the CF card and not recognize it. So it may be a software problem afterall. I know for me its not the CF cards as I have an NX to verify and they both work perfectly. That sucks. Well, I'm going to send it to Chris Short sooner or later. I'm actually hoping someone sends a VZ to him before me and see how it turns out. Sorry. I may be the first one to send it though and report the results too. Obviously there is a problem as this same thing has crept up on multiple users and its not just a single anomoly like Dragons grave misfortunes. Anybody think they can figure the reason? I'd help fund it.

I have changed several brands of CF card including scandisk and kinston, the results are same. And I have also one NX80, the CF card is ok with NX80. Now I am puzzled. Because if the software problem, there should not be sometimes ok sometimes not. I will try to ask my Japanese friend to get more info on this.
If you or anybody can find the problem and a solution, there will be much appreciation among more users than say it. I'm really enjoying my NX but I'm starting to miss the VZ. I hope somebody here can resolves this issue.
