Zire 72 camera problem.... any solution?

Hi guys,

My palm just started taking two pictures at once every time the shutter button was pressed. Any ideas? I launch the camera app, press the shutter button (hard d-pad, centre) and watch the little clock count down twice.... then there's two copies of essentially same photo in the media album.

Any ideas what's up with that?

I've tried it with and without the sd card in, at different resolutions, on different light level settings... no luck.

restore apps one by one

looks liek some app that messes with key events.

Dimitrygr is right. Different apps can have different effects with the palm, not to mention that different apps do not always agree with each other.

No, no Sharklinks installed.

I just did a hard reset and reinstalled the apps. Still no change.... two pictures every time.

I also just tried removing the game SkyForce, as that's the only app that I've changed any default key settings for, but that didn't make a difference either.

Puzzled and perturbed. wtf?

My screen started being hard to accept a command. Got worse with time.
Dumped everything and reinstalled using hotsync that restored backup stuff.
That worked for me.
I don't know how to do a soft dump, but try powering on with the dump switch pressed.
If that don't work, let the battery die. That works.

I know that happened to me when i had PalmRevolt on my zire 72.

Yes I can confirm what Firelord is saying. Set PalmRevolt to use system 5-way for camera app or use Skinui

What i can suggest is to perform a hard reset, try to take some pictures without hotsync if issue resolved that means that the issue is caused by an incompatible software installed ..
So you'll need to rename the backup folder( C/program files/palm/username/backup) to backup0 and sync to transfer your data ..
If after the hard reset you still have the same issue without performing the hotsync, you'll need to contact palm for a repair ..
