I don’t mean to bash the TG-50 because it is a fine device although I’m dealing with an internal decision whether I should keep this unit since I feel like my productivity has decreased. I must attribute this to text input whereas T665C has easy access to graffiti area and cut/paste while TG-50 has a combo of keyboard/soft graffiti area. Is anyone else experiencing this dilemma?

For the record, I’ve fully upgraded Palm Desktop software and successfully converted apps from T665C to TG-50. I’m considering a return of TG-50, reverting back to T665C, and awaiting a T model with virtual graffiti (argh). The apps I use mostly are Spreadsheets-To-Go, Datebook5, and Ultrasoft Money. Decisions…decisions!

Feedback is greatly appreciated!

Perhaps a dumb Q on my part, but have you considered any of the full-screen Graffiti apps? I'll leave it to others, who actually use them, to advise you of their respective pluses and minuses.

I just bought a TG50 yesterday and have not transitioned to it fully, but I am already concerned about it. I was entered serial #s for some apps I use regularly and quickly discovered that entering anything other than letters on the keyboard is a pain! I can definitely type faster even on these small little keys than I was ever able to graffitti, but only when it is letters that I'm typing. I do like the virtual graffiti though since it gives feedback and I feel my input is more accurate. As I said I haven't transitioned to this from my T615C and I've only had it for a day, but I am considering a return. I want to use it more and see how big an issue the data entry becomes.

i went thru that same period when coming from my NR70.  Though I prefered the keyboard, I liked using the graffiti for some things.  Now it's like I can only use the keyboard (though the graffiti is a button away).  I was debating taking it back and getting an NX60, but I'm used to the TG now.  2-3 weeks and goin strong ;)

I think that the hardware keyboard is something you have to spend some time to get accustomed to, and after you do, you will input words faster than using graffiti.

Another simple solution in inputing numeric characters is to install a software called Okey. It can simply your keyboard a lot.

Anyone find Okey doesn't auto activate when you do a reset?

The only thing that really slows me down about the keyboard is the graffiti shortcuts I no longer really have access to. Otherwise, once you remember what button combinations do what, it really flys along. Course I would've prefered it if it had graffiti and a keyboard built into one form, like with a Zaurus or Tungsten-esque sliding featured.

But if you think after another few days of really trying, that your productivity is lagging, you ought as well switch back. No shame in going back a model.
