Has anyone done a "thorough" review of the various auto maintenance trackers out there? I'm interested in buying one and have toyed around with several, but haven't really put them through their paces. If you're able to provide some comparisons, please share. I'm most interested in maintenance/service tracking and scheduling. I don't really care about mileage or fuel.
I've played with TealAuto, Auto Slate, Mr. Car, etc. I was fairly happy with TealAuto except for the user interface. I haven't found it intuitive and have had trouble figuring out how to add/schedule service. However, nothing else has won me over as being any better.

I used a few of them but my concern was all the info I had and was going to store in one of these programs. None of the programs I tried had a desktop interface nor any way to back up the data in case I lost my PDA or some horrific tragedy. I ended up creating a SmartList database and use that. Works great and takes up lil space.

I'm in the same boat, but am leaning toward Auto Slate. A new version was just released today on PalmGear:
http://www.palmgear.com/software/showsoftware.cfm?sid=62269020021230190416&prodID=14043
It does have a conduit for exporting to the desktop.

HandBase 3.0 (www.ddhsoftware.com) has an auto maintenance relational database (look in galary). You can customize it to suit your needs, and the program has a desktop counterpart with bi-directional syncing. There are many uses for HandBase, and dbs can be stored on MS. They have a special $10 off $29.95 and you get much more than just an auto maintenance database! :)

I use BlueMoon (http://www.palmgear.com/software/showsoftware.cfm?sid=48575219990926141428&prodID=3979), which is useful for tracking a lot of things besides auto maintenance. It lets you categorize items, sort your lists in many different ways, export to To Do, and has a lot of other features.

It never fails. I finally find a program I'm happy with and then someone posts another one that's better than the one I bought!

Donna,
You can add PDAs to the list of hobbies that become "black holes" which we throw our money into! :D

For those using autoslate...i just downloaded it today. it looks like great pgm, if i can get it to work!
I entered my vehicle name, then tried to do other things w/ it. Rec'd a "Fatal Alert msg: MemoryMgr.c,Line:3675 invalid chink ptfr" Then have to reset (soft).
Bottom line: can't use the pgm, unless.....
Any help!
BTW, using a NX70v. Is autoslate compatible w/ OS5?
Thanks!
