I don't know where you are located. There are 2 kinds of PEGA-CC5, US and Euro versions. US version uses StreetFinder C3 and European version uses Navman as mapping software. Make sure you get the right one.

I hope you find someone here that is willing to sell his. Otherwise, eBay is a good alternative source for it. For a US version, you can buy it now for $250, Item number: 5764146241. I think I got mine from that same seller, genejul (http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=genejul&iid=5764146241&frm=284). The unit was brand new.

eBay's the place to be, for sure.

I got mine there as well, from one of those big dealer-liquidator types who must have come into a huge lot of the UScc5's. I saw several brand-new units go for around $75 before I could snag one myself finally for about $150. Kinda hated that I paid that much, but they were $299 retail when they came out.

BTW--also check out if you have a Fry's Electronics near you. There's 2 in my area, one in Arlington, and one in Irving. About a year ago I happened to go to the one in Irving and saw that they had a US cc5 on the shelf--it was an opened return, but I think they had a price of $200 (which I thought was a joke!)

Hi Mike, I have an extra PEGA-CC5 EUR version. Brand New. Opened for the software. I have the US version also. So, I can provide either software. If you would like to talk about it you can email me at jodokast(at)earthlink.net .

One advantage of Euro CC5 over the US version is it has mounting arm for TH55. The US version does not come with it. I ended up modifying TG50 mounting arm for TH55 by chopping the knob off.

That knob is supposed to fit the groove on the back of TG50. Apparently TH55 groove (located between Palm Powered and MagicGate logos on the back of TH55) is positioned lower than that of TG50's. Oh well, not a great loss, my TH55 still fits nicely on the CC5 cradle.

If you buy a new PEGA-CC5 US version, it comes with 2 mounting arms. The long arm is for the brick NX80 and the short arm is for the slim TG50. My guess is the CC5 European version comes with 3 mounting arms (for NX, TG, and TH). Is that true littlehorn?

Caution about buying a used CC5, some mounting parts may not be there any more. As Murphy's Law goes, the missing part could be the one that you really need. That is a reason why I don't like buying a used one. You will lose those extra parts as some of them are glued on, e.g., sticky pads, the mounting arm, etc., to the cradle and deskboard. The strap is modified/cut off to fit individual deskboard. Those extra parts, that you need to fit your car deskboard, could be missing or no longer included in the package, like when you buy a used TH55 with missing installation CD or manual or charger. So make sure those parts listed in the box or installation manual are still complete. It won't be fun to buy an expensive device that renders useless because of missing bracket.

Yep, Its true. 3 arms in the EUR kit. 2 in the US kit. Funny thing is.. the "TH55 arm" does not really fit as perfect as you would imagine. It is kind of slanted at an angle when installed and doesn't look proper. I will try to fit the TG50 arm and see how it holds the TH55.

I did price the TH55 arm at PartStore.com and it was like $35 USD. Ouch! Makes me believe there IS gold in the plastic somewhere.

Could your "slanted" position be due to the knob on the holding arm mounted upside down or listed erroneously as TG50 instead of TH55? As I mentioned in the previous post, above, I chopped the knob off the TG50 holding arm. My TH55 is sitting happy now, no knob sticking on its but*, I mean, back. ;)

Now I can just simply raise the TH55 up and off the CC5 cradle with one hand. Apparently TG50 and TH55 have very similar thickness, so that holding arm can be used for both PDAs once the knob is chopped off.

Hi
does anyone know any place where to get the cc5 in europe, especially in germany?
Some are on ebay, but mostly the us version... i actually got a gps system so i got via michelin as routing software, i suppose it would also work with the cc5 gps antenna so i dont mind which software i get.

I believe the CC5/U and CC5/E are the same except for the mapping softwares. US version uses StreetFindr C3 and Euro version uses Navman. Well, there is another difference, hardware-wise, the US version does not include the TH55 holding arm, but as I mentioned earlier that is an easy modification of TG50 holding arm.

If you can't find CC5/E in eBay Germany, try eBay UK. This eBay Item number: 9706029008 (http://cgi.ebay.com/NEWSony-Sat-Nav-Cradle-GPS-Pega-CC5-peg-Th55_W0QQitemZ9706029008QQcategoryZ56166QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) is being bid at 77GBP with 2 days 17 hours left. Good luck!

I will take a look this weekend.

I believe the CC5/U and CC5/E are the same except for the mapping softwares...and holding arm.

Well, one other difference that affects the software...The CC5/EUR does not have an active FM modulator built into the cradle. So, a few of the apps are then different between the CC5 models.

I may sell mine. I've gotten too used to Street Atlas USA and the wired GPS, and I also have a BT TH55 now also.

It's a Euro CC5, tried twice, and got the US map software from Dan.
