I've been trying to work my head around the above process for several months. Now before you all say, it's easy, get pocket dvix encoder... I mean completely automated!

So automated, that i plug my t|X in at night with my pc running, and wake up the next day to fresh content, as i walk out the door.

So we'll all fairly clever, ideas anyone.

Initially i thought i would write a batch script, however the batch scripting in windows xp can only be described as crap, So thats not gonna fly. Bash for linux should work much better, however it of course involves a linux box, which not all of us have, or want.(i have one).

My idea was using the "broadcatching" plugin's for azuerus, to download the torrents via rss, download the files, run a nightly script to enumerate a specified folder, and run them though pocket divx encoder, either via the gui, or directly though virual dub(it does support scripts right?). Then set up a mini app to launch and start palm ftp at another time (wireless may be slow, but it means my t|x can be anywhere in the house) or run softick usb drive software, and transfer the files to the device. USB would be easy of course, as A)the device is physically attached and charging mean less possibility of a dead battery when you wake up, B) you don't have to deal with ftp.

Another idea is storing the files on a(within your house hold, so network speeds apply) http server root, and using a cms to create an rss feed, which would then be downloaded by something like quicknews.

It would be nicer if this called all be rolled up in to one app, client(T|X) and server(PC or mac) side, however as a budding developer i have no time, and am certainly not going to ask others to put time on my tech fantasy.

So am i mad? Too geeky? or Lazy? or is it easier than i think.

None of the above, just too sober. ;)
