Hey guys... I hope you can answer this...
I have some trouble sometimes when putting mp3 on my magicgate... it sometimes says "this format doesn't have copyright bla bla" sth like that.
this is really annoying me!
I have heard that this is a common problem with the white memorystick. Can I still add mp3 on the purple one and still listen to it?
With what program and how should I add it in so my clie can play them? In what directory?
Hope to findning for these answers...

There are no problems playing MP3s on a standard purple memory sticks I don't know off the top of my head what file directory the songs need to be in though, someone else here will have to give you that answer.
As for the white Magic Gate memory sticks, this so called copyright protection conflict with MP3s was the reason I stayed away from them in the first place. Not to mention the inflated price.

For the purple memory stick, put the mp3s in Palm/Programs/MsAudio. Mcfile is the best app to do it. But Filez is free, so if you dont wanna pay, use Filez.

Is this a common problem??? I thought MagicGate was supposed to be able to take mp3s?

MagicGate was geared more for "ATRAC" format music files, which are even more compressed than MP3s. However, they also seem to have some sort of copy protection that only allows them to be stored on the MagicGate brand sticks... they don't work on the purple sticks at all. It could be that the MagicGates have problems with regular MP3s more often because they have the extra "security" features embedded in them, but I'm not really sure. I've never used a MagicGate stick though, or really followed the discussions too closely on them, so hopefully someone else can verify that or correct me on it.
Cheers.
