The Missing Sync is now Universal, adding support for Mac Intel systems. This new version has also fixed numerous issues syncing PIM conduits; the install pane now remembers last card selected; has fixed issues with ReadMe in installer for 10.3.9; has updated assistants to include information about Tungsten TX and LifeDrive and more. ...just want to say that for the longest time, I've been using Palm Desktop, the iSync conduit, and The Missing Sync *together*...

I recently found out (because I got a new hard drive and I decided to do a clean install) that The Missing Sync is all I needed. My LifeDrive syncs perfectly with iTunes (with my non-DRM'd songs), iPhoto, iCal, Address Book, and my folder of notes (which I read and edit with WordToGo).

Great work as always Mark/Space!

Here are a few screenshots from the tutorial:

The "Assistants" have also been updated to add more detailed instructions for the LifeDrive and TX.

I am a new mac user (love Swithblog Joel). I only have Missing Sync installed and it works great! Love the itunes integration (although it is not always smooth) and the WiFi hotsync. Any reason for us non-intel users to update (I have 5.0)?

Finally, here's what the main screen looks like. I can set The Missing Sync to different sync profiles. Mine's currently set to Install only. I can sync via cable, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.

The performance should still be the same. I have a G4 and this new version still works as great.

However, there's still that ugly Drive Mode bug that won't allow me to unmount the LD from the desktop if I've left the LD connected for quite some time. Since it freezes the entire Mac, I just reset the LD. The Mac comes alive once again, and the LD (after the reset) is as good as new.

Thanks for the kind words about Switchblog though I wish I could update it more often. And I like a Sharkjacket too! :D

Anybody know if there's a version of this available or in the works for us poor Windows users?

Anyone else having trouble with MS 5.1?

I'm getting duplicates, error messages and all sorts of troubles with my calendars. I've lost count of how many times I've overwritten the handheld, and/or restored my iCal calendars from a backup. I just can't get it to play nice...

Tim
PS Delgrego, I'd like to feel sorry for you, but with so many Palm apps I've looked at with a Windows-only desktop component or worse, a Windows-only installation, it's almost nice to have something PC users don't. I'll get over it, it's a great app and would be much appreciated in the Windows world, so I hope that one day you do. Until then, I'll be all smug and superior in that gloating macintosh way that PC users hate so much... :)

It (5.10) seems to fix a problem I was having with my Clie UX50 where the memopad entries kept being repeated on the Palm and I'd periodically have to synch with "desktop overwrites handheld".

One caveat - read the 'readme' - you are supposed to do a synch BEFORE updating then synch with all conduits set to "desktop overwrites handheld" I believe.

For those having problems, this always works for me. After any software install Applications folder->Utilities->Disk utility; run and choose "repair permissions"

FYI - Mac OS X 10.4.6 fixes permissions automatically.
