Well, I remember the thread here about posting your high score in Bejeweled. Most people had 50,000 some had 60k or 80k, ect. Well a couple nights ago I managed to score over 100,000. I felt very proud and figured it to be a pretty high score! I decided to take my high score to the Astraware website and post it on their high score table......

Where my score was ranked 898 on the high score table :(
MAN there are some good Bejeweled players!

No, they just figured out the Bejewelled cheat, and you haven't.

(Not that that's a bad thing... people who cheat and then post high scores are lame.)

My wife can break 70 and 80 thousand regularly on that game and I can barely break 20 thousand. I've just never figured that game out. :)

Yah, and Astraware also figured out how to sieve out people who cheat... I've achieved 2.47 million for Timed without cheating... Now I think if i cheated, I probably would hit 100 million?

That's odd. When I posted my score on the high score table I was listed as #692. When I clicked the link to see my score I was ranked #515.

Anyway, best I've been able to do is 137960. http://www.astraware.com/scripts/highscore/table.php?productid=11&mode=0&page=26

I got 502550 in timed today. It said that I was ranked at 219 or something but when viewing the list it says I'm #161...

LOL I didnt "lie". Why would I lie about a Bejeweled score? Now im 681 so as you must see, it changes.

As for strategy....I dont have one. I just try and make as many combos as I can. My only other strategy is that I have to much time on my hands in the evening :D

I set the game speed to slow, somehow I'm able to do more combos that way...other wise, I don't have a real strategy. BTW, do you know about the hint feature(grafitti "h")? If you don't know where the next combo is, it will show you. Of course, it will take 5 seconds off you time, so in the later stage of the game, it's rather dangerous to use that feature. This hint feature sometimes is useful though.

There is a strategy for bejeweled: always have a next move. Lots of people go after the moves which create the biggest cascades, but this may easily get them to a point where there are no moves left. And let's face it, the way to rack up high scores is not to have one or two big cascades, but to go for longevity! I tend to play the top half of the board mostly, knowing that if I run out of moves there, I can move down and find more options there. This usually works. Not always. :)

That's a bad strategy. If work work on the bottom board, there is a higher chance that the top gems will shuffle and get you combos. If you work at the top, you will simply be getting 3s. Your logic is pitiful.

I reply to the ___ unnamed man, it seems that you'e only been going from board to board, posting insignificant rantings putting people down. Most of the time I would not say anything, but I have not seen one post on this board after yours or any of yours themselves that were constructive. I'm sorry to turn this topic into another one of those useless rants, but it's worth pointing out. I'd also dismiss it just as easily, but your avatar also doesn't help the matter any. If you registered to these boards just to talk trash, I'm sure there's some other newsgroup that wants to hear it, because I'm sure I can speak for some people when I say we don't want to hear it. Thank you and good day.

Yes considering I own both a PPC w/ XScale and also a Palm OS 4.1 and prefer the Palm! Dont get my wrong...there are amazing games for the PPC and the graphics are awesome (pocket everquest, Snails, ect.) but its much easier just to turn a Palm on and play!
